I don’t know about you guys & gals but I grew up with Opey, Andy, Aunt Bee and Barney.

As Andy we all looked towards him as America’s Ideal Dad. He is an American symbol of an idea we all have life should be. Or not. Mr. Griffith was an accomplished actor who also stared in Matlock for 8 seasons. Andy was a great actor but more importantly an even greater person. People around him as well as friends say he will be truly missed.

See you on the flip side.

Hi Skippy,

I agree with you.  It seems all the great ones are leaving us -- with none of equal talent to fill their shoes.  I get the mental image of seeing clear water flowing out -- and the pool being filled with only mosquito laden muddy water.  But, that is Hollywood.

One of my favorites will always be Sammy Davis, Jr. -- and I will always chuckle at his response when asked about his golf handicap, "Are you kidding?  I'm a black, one-eyed, Jew!"   He was a very talented man.

There are some talented young actors today.  But, although they have talent, they do not have the spiritual maturity and depth of such as Andy Griffith.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

________

And what makes you so sure he had spiritual maturity and depth? I read an article in which a fan was praising him & Andy told him not to do that. Told him if he wanted to know what kind of man he really was, to ask his two ex-wifes.

I loved him too, & enjoyed watching any of his shows/movies but he wasn't a saint. He was human, like all of us.
