Greece is just about out of options. While her economy circles the drain, her elders abandon the cities for their old home places in the hills (at least they will eat) and her young people flee in search of jobs.  Greece, desperately seeks another loan from the EU or one of its nations to stave off the inevitable.  If Merkel loans any more to the Greeks, her political goose is cooked.  In Germany, some speak of the Bundeswehr being deployed around Berlin to defend the capital from the Territorialheer -- civil war.  Germans have a deathly fear of runaway inflation.

For the Greeks, its just the opposite.  They propose to bring back the drachma and abandon the euro,  Then, running the presses, mercilessly hunting down their creditors and paying them off with bales of drachma.  How long until we see a trillion drachma bill.

Another fiasco brought to you by progressives.

Looks like a "job opportunity" for Obama.

After all, he's done so well.

Their government has only two sources of wealth left to loot. -- the shipping magnates and the church.  If they go against the shipping magnates, most of their wealth lies in the ships -- which could be re-flagged in Albania in a couple of days and registered in Venice the next day.  The magnates would flee to Monaco or Switzerland leaving nice homes as the only thing left to loot.  So, there may be a market for Greek villas and Greek Orthodox religious objects.
