Anyone ever tried Greenbriar Barbeque in Madison?

Yes. BBQ is okay but I really like their catfish.
Unadvertised special- all you can eat smoked chicken is $7.98..........with fries, slaw and hush-puppies...............lip smackin' good!
Which Greenbriar BBQ are you talking about? The one along the main highway (I565) or the small, hole in the wall one, that is a few miles from the one along the main road. I've ate at both and I think that the hole in the wall joint had better food.
The catfish is good. Hushpuppies are brought to the table ASAP upon sitting down. Al Gore ate there once when he was VP. (I thought you might want to know this. LOL!)
NOw this is the old Greenbriar at the railroad crossing- not the one on 565. BIG difference if you like good ol country cookin'

This is at the original one
565 one isn't that exciting. Haven't been to the other.
Yes, it's a very good place to eat. Their wait staff is great, and they hush puppy you to death.
I have been to both.
I went to the old Greenbriar this week, had catfish, shrimp, and hushpuppies. Service and food were great. One of the guys from Rocket City Rednecks was there eating with his friends, which wasn't surprising since he probably lives not too far from there.
Alright so where is the small hole in the wall one located specifically?
Exit right the road where the new one is, stay straight to stop sigh . The restaurant is on the right.
Correct, about the "old" Greenbrier which I think is the only Greenbrier. Not to disparage the newer, larger, one but I've always thought the food was so much better at the old one near the tracks. If I have a choice and don't mind the extra drive, which I don't, I always choose the older one but I do wish they had more space cause often you have to wait for a table if you get there at the right/wrong time. But then they are usually always quite popular so anytime is a busy time usually.
Thanks, I'll try the old one. I believe its the same one that existed when US 72 was two lane and the interstate spur was a dream. I'm really particular about my barbeque.
This reminds me I need to visit Bunyans right here in town.
BBQ lovers go by the Right Side BBQ on Huntsville Road. My Aunt lives close to them and had me try it. They have beef brisket and its really good!
Barbeque is pork--not beef brisket. Preferably pork shoulders, sometimes whole hog.
All the good bbq places in Memphis had to start carrying brisket, but it was for Northerners or Texans traveling through town on business. No self respecting Southerner (outside of Texas) would even consider eating the stuff.
