We just beat landfall of Tropical Storm Cristobal in getting back last night. The weather for the week we were in Gulf S****s was outstanding. My biggest disappointment was the poorly-timed closure of the State Pier.

Eating out is normally one of Life's 'simple pleasures' when vacationing at The Beach.  Not this time, with an exception to 'Tacky Jack's'. Disappointments were primarily related to idiotic  '50% occupancy' requirements which had the unintended consequences of creating outrageous 'wait times'.  As much as we enjoy dining at 'Cobalt's', the experience isn't worth a '3-hour wait time'.  And 'No': they WEREN'T taking reservations.  The other disappoints were related to the quality (lack) of the food or abismal service.

With regards to the '50% occupancy' guidelines. These WERE NOT in effect at 'Lambert's'.  They were packed in 'wall-to-wall', AND they were 'throwing rolls'. Wait time was 1.5 hours. Food was mediocre.

I live down there  now and to be fair the state and local governments have been instituting crazy requirements for restaurants.  They have also just now been able to re open and re hire service people. Sorry you had a bad  experience but honestly they are just getting started again.   Hopefully the state and local governments will come to their senses and relax all these crazy requirements for all businesses but sadly I think they will try to keep them going for “OUR OWN GOOD” or so they will say!
