If the food shortage crisis comes here are you prepared? I think that the shortage is controlled by the governments of these countries and done purposefully in preparation for the NWO/New World Order. It is meant to cause hysteria and begin the steps for us to eventually be under a dictatorship.

The Patriot Act I&II, that congress was tricked into signing, because would you not sign something called the PATRIOT ACT? When it's true intent is the direct opposite and more to encroach on our freedoms. The Bush administration reminds me so much of George Orwell's 1984. If you haven't read it you can get the ebook free on the web. It will really open your eyes. I heard that Bush uses 1984 as a how-to-guide.

I have started stockpiling food, I wish that I could do the same for gas. Although, whether or not the worldwide food crisis will hit us is still iffy.

The year is 1984; the scene is London, largest population center of Airstrip One.

Airstrip One is part of the vast political entity Oceania, which is eternally at war with one of two other vast entities, Eurasia and Eastasia. At any moment, depending upon current alignments, all existing records show either that Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia and allied with Eastasia, or that it has always been at war with Eastasia and allied with Eurasia. Winston Smith knows this, because his work at the Ministry of Truth involves the constant "correction" of such records. "'Who controls the past,' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.'"

In a grim city and a terrifying country, where Big Brother is always Watching You and the Thought Police can practically read your mind, Winston is a man in grave danger for the simple reason that his memory still functions. He knows the Party's official image of the world is a fluid fiction. He knows the Party controls the people by feeding them lies and narrowing their imaginations through a process of bewilderment and brutalization that alienates each individual from his fellows and deprives him of every liberating human pursuit from reasoned inquiry to sexual passion. Drawn into a forbidden love affair, Winston finds the courage to join a secret revolutionary organization called The Brotherhood, dedicated to the destruction of the Party. Together with his beloved Julia, he hazards his life in a deadly match against the powers that be.

Newspeak, doublethink, thoughtcrime--in 1984, George Orwell created a whole vocabulary of words concerning totalitarian control that have since passed into our common vocabulary. More importantly, he has portrayed a chillingly credible dystopia. In our deeply anxious world, the seeds of unthinking conformity are everywhere in evidence; and Big Brother is always looking for his chance.

Pres. Bush's America: 1984 or Brave New World?
Why Bush's America Feels Like Orwell's 1984
It was survivalists during the Cold War, Y2K and now this. I missed most of the Cold War, but spent a good part of 1999 ensuring State's antiquated AT infrastructure would still work. Unlike, the doomsday experts who were hiding in their boltholes.

For those who claim the world will end on 25 December 2012 per Aztec calendar, Bible code, or Necronomicon.. Prove your beliefs and commit suicide on 24 December, thus sparing youselves the horror. Go on, please drink the Kool-aid.

I know how to find conspiracy theories on the net, but I was asking where someone close to Bush says he uses '1984' as his guidebook, like you inferred, not unsubstantiated opinions of leftwing Bush haters. So your sources are common dreams.org from the Denver daily camera, associated content, san fran gate, and buzzflash. Some hard hitting news organizations you've got there.
I have roughly enough canned food for a month. I also have a generator, bottled water, a firearm or two, currency, a first aid kit and water purifier.

It is hurricane season here. I you have ever experienced a direct hit, you know the consequences of being unprepared. Now, I'm fortunate enough to live on the same electric grid as a local hospital.

I'll keep the canned goods until November, and the unused portion I always donate to the annual Thanksgiving food drive.

We have truly been blessed here in the Tn Valley,we have not been hit by a devastating natural event.

Yeah, I know, isn't it weird how storms always go around Florence, and never do hardly any damage. Pretty cool. Smiler

What do you think that the ones you watch now are telling you the whole truth? There is a lot of news kept from us, even the Times Daily dumbs down the news.

Let us hope that it stays that way. I was a member of one of the first, CERT Teams in Miami-Dade. Disasters here could be natural, or worse, man made. I was the beneficiary of some excellent training, fire, rescue, recovery, triage, etc.

Fortunately, I haven't had to use anything but the CPR training. (The poor woman lived and her family thanked me profusely. ;^))

I prefer to err on the side of caution. It is always better, to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
