Stupidity knows no party. It's happened on both sides. Just because one side has done it doesn't make it right for the other side. I tried that excuse when I was a kid and it didn't work then either.

Blue? didn't I just read in another thread that you owned a business employing 47 people? Why aren't you on your company's health plan?
Notice the words "WAS PAYING". I just expanded my business in December. We do have a company plan now. But 47 employees doesn't buy me a lot of leverage. Its still very, very expensive. And it seems I will be having a number of employees opting out next June because they feel it is too expensive. So, its still unclear if I will be able to continue to offer any benefits under a company plan. Even with the tax breaks the new bill will offer me.
I thought this wondeful Obama bill was going to help you? Help from Obama and lower insurance and medical costs, why wouldn't you be able to afford it?

I don't tan inside or out. Just because I have the right not to be pasty white, I prefer it. I just find it funny that they had to toss that into this "Landmark Legislation". You know it was added to replace a tax on Botox injections because the makers convinced the Democrats that a tax on Botox was discriminatory towards women.

Tanning is a great thing to tax because 1) its a frivolous expense and not a necessity just like cigarettes and 2) the American Cancer Society states based on studies from the IARC and WHO that tanning has been elevated "to its highest cancer risk category – "carcinogenic to humans" (Group 1)" which means that it is now in the same category of cancer causing agents as cigarettes. Due to it being such a frivolous expense and health risk the people choosing to tan should have to pay a tax to tan inorder to subsidize their future cancer treatments and other related health problems.
If you really want to get around this tax, walk your white pasty hiny outside and enjoy the sun by the pool during the summer and tan that way. People in Alabama look ridiculous walking around in the winter month of January with a deep gold tan. Every knows you sure didn't get it naturally.
Whether its a tax against whites, I am not sure, I know hispanic people in Florida that tan so I don't know if white people are the only race that use a tanning bed or not. It might be a stretch to say its racist.
