It's time to add a little class to the trophy. The last two winners severely lacked any class at all. The sad part of it was, it was as obvious as Mr. Clintons lack of class in office, but yet these two classless players still got the votes to win. I'm afraid the U.S.A. is heading in the wrong direction when it comes to our leaders and heroes.

You nailed that one. Bill Clinton was responsible for Johnnie football and J Winston winning the Heisman trophy.  Something that happened before they were born caused them to have rare football talents. Never mind the fact that peers and grownups had petted them their entire lives and told them how special they were, and made sure they were treated special.

i long for the days when players like 1959 winner Billy Cannon (served 2 years in federal prison) and 1972 winner Johnny Rodgers (was a convicted felon when he won the award) represented the award with class. Of course I did leave off a few former (??) drug addicts, at least one who was suspended for betting on football while he was a player, one who caused quite stir when he had a child out of wedlock during his freshman year...and of course who can forget OJ Simpson.
