Why? Turner Gill cannot and never will be able to compete with Nick Saban in recruiting. As long as Saban is at Bama the state belongs and the bragging rights belong to Saban and Bama.

The guy who was the lead recruiter for Nebraska during a stint that included 3 National Championships, 3 all-american Qb's, and 1 Heisman throphy winning Qb?? This guy is a sparkplug for enthusiasm, who is a NATIONAL recruiter.... parents trust him with their sons, and rightfully so, as he is a man of high character with great disipline.
Now, I truely believe Auburn will throw a bag of money at some guys first... Steve Spurrier being one...but if Auburn is unable to land the splash "Big Name" coach, they would be lucky to land Turner Gill. He will be a winner somewhere...and I mean championship winner... If Auburn choses the upstart path, Turner Gill is a fantastic choice!!!

Walking into the living room of a recruit, telling his story (if you listened to the audio I posted) and his vision for the program, along with a few of the things he has been a part of, with his charisma, and a SEC name like Auburn on his shirt, I think he could hold his own.
Oh, and coaches have competed with Nick Saban before and can do it again.
Reading these post I have come to one conclusion, Peter Rielly has entirely to much time on his hands, dude where do you get all you info, HAHA. However I will admit that I am a BAMA fan, but I do wish AUBBIES the best in their hunt in finding a Coach. I do agree with a lot of people in saying that I think Tubby leaving or being fired, forced out whatever, will have a huge impact on Auburn. If he was forced out, big mistake on Auburn. Tubbs was good I will definitely give him that, 6 in a row against BAMA, and one H$#L of a record. Good Luck AUBBIES.

Turner Gill would be an excellant hire but there is one problem.Auburn isn`t smart enough to hire him.And if they were smart enough then Bobby Lowder would handicap him from the get go.The problem at Auburn is the boosters.A group of arrogant people who know nothing about football running a football program.Bama had this problem too until we rectified it.
