Hi to my Forum Friends,

On the Religion Forum, I began a discussion titled "Public Schools: For Teaching - Or Indoctrination?" and in that discussion a Forum Friend, who tells me he is a Christian but refuses to go to church, who has a great distaste for conservative Christians, and who declares the Bible to be just a book of symbolism and myths, asks the question which he feels will stump all conservative Christians:

"If homosexuality is such a horrible sin, then why isn't there a commandment against it?  Why didn't Jesus say anything about it?"

That is a great question -- and, guess what?  That is in the Ten Commandments!  And, Jesus did address that issue.

If you will notice, in Exodus 20:12,"Honor your father and your mother" -- the Fifth Commandment.

Jesus compressed the Ten Commandments into two, to make it easier for us to understand and follow them.

Matthew 22:37-40, "Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.  On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.' "

If we look at these two readings of the Ten Commandments, we will find that He compressed the first four, which pertain to our relationship with God, into His new first commandment.

And, He compressed the last six commandments into His new second commandment, our relationship with other people.

So, when we look at these two groups, we find the first beginning with, "You shall love the Lord your God."  That establishes our relationship with God.

And the second group begins with, "Honor your father and your mother."  That establishes our relationship with family and with all other people.

Notice that He does not tell us to honor our "two mommies" or our "two daddies" -- but, to honor "our Father and our Mother."   He is telling us that the God ordained family has one father and one mother, the foundation of the spiritual, stable family.  And, the spiritual, stable society -- IS built upon strong families, strong Godly families.

My Friend, if you will just lay aside all your prejudices and study the Bible with an open, seeking, sincere heart -- you will find that, in the Bible, God has addressed every issue, every question, which may arise in our daily lives.   Why don't you give it a real try and see what a change God can make in your life?

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

LOL.  Balderdash and rubbish.  Talk about making something out of nothing.  You might as well sayh "grass grows in dirt, birds fly in the sky, therefore grass grows in the sky."  Your logic is refutable.

As for this tidbit from you:

"and who declares the Bible to be just a book of symbolism and myths".  <<-- If you posted this lie on Facebook, I will expect a very public retraction.  I dare you to show me where I have said that.

Man, you are an idiot.

Why, Crusty, my Friend,

Do you mean that you are the one who wrote this Biblically illiterate, inane question?

"If homosexuality is such a horrible sin, then why isn't there a commandment against it?  Why didn't Jesus say anything about it?"

Why, I would have sworn that was written by an atheist!    Crusty, is that you hiding in that atheist costume?

Bless your little old hiding heart!

Crusty, my Friend,

My heart breaks for you when you make such a statement.    When I read John 1:1-2, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God" -- and realize that YOU would denigrate the name of Jesus Christ -- just to use it as a weapon against another; my heart really hurts for you.

From that action, it is so obvious that you have NEVER known Jesus Christ.  You may have heard of Him; you may have read about Him -- but, that statement shows that you have NEVER known Him.

From your shallow statement, it seems that Jesus was speaking to you when He said:

Mark 13:21-23, "And then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ'; or, 'Behold, He is there'; do not believe him; for false Christs and false prophets will arise, and will show signs and wonders, in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect.  But take heed; behold, I have told you everything in advance."

My Friend, please -- give some thought to your words before tossing them out as weapons of anger and abuse.

One last thought, my Jesus Christ needs no forgiveness.  He came and died in YOUR place to offer forgiveness to you, me, and all the world.   He is God, He is perfect, and He needs no forgiveness.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Hi Crusty,

When we say something, i.e., such as your question, is good -- that is not to imply that it is correct thinking.  It only means that, like a car with a malfunctioning engine, we can use that to teach proper and Biblical thinking.

So, since you are very confused about Jesus Christ -- believing as do the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc., that there are other Christs -- that made your statement a good illustration to show folks how the secular, humanistic world, led by Satan, thinks.

Thank you for your help in sharing the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
