Just saw on CNN news that the congress has approved a spending bill with a Iraq pull out. Bush says he will still veto that bill.

I think that's a fair game for Bush. LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If he wants his piece of cake he had better behave himself. LOL !!!!!!

Now I hope we can pull something on congress if we ever have too. That's why I'm not for either party.

I'm just laughing at both of their childish attitude.

It's not so much the Patriot Act. Congress is the one who passed the Iraq war resolution that gave the president the power to do what he felt needed to be done. He is the CinC. If they don't like the way he is prosecuting the war then they should defund it. Period.

There are a couple of things I want to add. First, if the funding legislation is not passed within the next month, the money will run out, effectively voting NO funding for the war. So, vetoing the bill might be the same as voting no funds for the war. Especially if the two Houses can stretch out the conference committee work for a couple of weeks. Not much of a Problem for congress to drag its feet. The House and Senate Versions of the bill are not identical, so, until the differences are worked out the bill will not go to the President for Signature.
As for the Childish behavior, I don't know about you, but I learned everything I really NEEDED to know by the time I was in fifth grade.
Bush has vowed to veto anything like the two bills in question. If Bush does get a bill which he vetos, he would therefore have sent men and women into combat and is attempting to cut off funding for them while they are in the field.
I don't know if there ever was a clean bill to fund anything in my lifetime, so he should stop whining about this one.

On the Money excelman, no pun intended. If Bush manages to force a "clean" funding bill, he will personally hold all the responsibility for the result of that spending. His stubborn refusal to agree to withdrawal from Iraq is going to be a major issue in the Republican Presidential primaries. And if his Stay the Course position wins in the Republican Party, the next President will not be a Republican.
