You should be glad that people are willing to make some noise at the games. When the other team is on 3rd down or going for it on 4th, those horn blowers will come in handy.

Noisemakers are just part of the college football experience. I've been to Mississippi State where the cowbells were deafening. I'm pretty sure no one complained about them.

If a football game is too loud for you, stay home.

Then you've never been to a UNA game. Smiler You should come and help the proud few who do give the team the support it deserves.

It's pathetic. We have probably the most talented team we've ever had and the people of this area continue to show their non-support. Pathetic.

If support means being rude, obnoxious, and having yourself removed from the game by security, I'll leave all that to you. Okay?

As I've told other knuckleheads who open their stupid mouths without knowing what happened: You're stupid. There was absolutely NOTHING going on there that was rude or obnoxious and we were apologized to accordingly. I'm only rude and obnoxious when given a reason to be, like right now. Get a life fool.

Yeah, I was a section over, but I heard your loudmouth kids on the way out.

Your such an old stick in the mud. You really don't belong at a football game. Why don't you stay home and watch a couple of old ladies play checkers instead. Big Grin

Oh, and just for the record, artificial noise makers of any type aren't supposed to be allowed into the stadium. I don't know if this is a UNA rule or an NCAA rule, but I do know that it is a rule.

Yeah Mr know it all, WRONG again! Big Grin It's only in the playoffs that they aren't allowed. And as far as your sorry ass, take it to any coach and ask him who they prefer in the stadium. Lumps of mud like you or people who will actually provide a lift to the team? Just have a thick skin when you ask them. Wink

So, I'll take that as a "NO".

I'm looking into the noise maker thing from an official source, and will get back to you when I know for certain. As for knowing it all, I at least know which sections are reserved seats, and which are general admission. Have you been able to say the same?

We were in the general admission section of Section F which is down close to the field. Saying that we were in the reserved section that night was just another lie you probably heard someone say. As far as the artificial noise makers, were told that by reps of the NCAA at the Delta State game last year.

I don't think it's an NCAA rule. Miss State has cowbells, other schools have given out thunder sticks, plastic hand clappers, and various other noise makers as promotions. It's just part of the experience at a lot of places, but every stadium has their own rules. I think the NCAA rule is for air horns and electronic devices, Braley might have a ban on all noise makers.

I do know that the band can draw a penalty against their team for playing during a play. TSU had a few called on them in the past because they play non-stop. HBCs are given more lenience with this since it's part of their tradition, but if they go to far the refs will flag them.
I'm thinking it is Braly Stadium, Nash. A year or two ago, they distributed thundersticks for the first game, and I'm 99% positive at the second game there was an announcement that noisemakers weren't allowed. Security got onto some people that had brought some homemade noise makers.

I find it hard to believe that the band can get you in trouble. Were they playing over the loudspeakers? You apparently can be penalized for making noise during the a play if it is over the public address system - it has happened at a UNA game.
The NCAA rep told us cowbells were okay except during playoff games. If UNA has gone that far to suppress support for the team, they have REALLY GONE TOO FAR. I don't care if the band AND the loudspeakers were playing at the same time, that noise is nothing compared to what opposing teams face in Death Valley, The Swamp, Neyland Stadium, etc. The teams adjust to it so I'm not really sure what the motives are of our administration.

I haven't any gripes about our security guys. There was only one who wanted to take it upon himself to be the Dirty Harry of Braly Stadium and I haven't seen him this year. They should be there for the security of the fans, not to suppress fan support of the team. That's what fans are for.

The band can absolutely get a team in trouble if they perform during the plays. If you notice, most bands will play in between and stop once everyone lines up. TSU doesn't stop, they just get a little quieter, sometimes. It's gotten them flagged a few times since I've been around them. Not sure how many times it's happened in the past.
Do these people not realize they are in Florence, Alabama? They should sit down and clap politely when UNA makes a good play. We don't need any noise or jobs here. We are just trying to be a retirement community. Maybe we can get all this riff-raff under 65 banned from our retirement village. Also, these games need to start earlier in the day. We need to eat supper at 4 and be asleep by 8.
