in doing a search of members, by Join Date, it appears that October 26, 2006, was the first member(s).  According to the website, there are now 14,088 members of which you can be sure many have died and far more have just ceased checking in for whatever reasons.  Since those who have died aren't going to be sending out notices of their deceased status it's impossible to know just how many there are.  It's also impossible to know how many of the members on the list have been banned for whatever reason but regardless of their banned status they still appear as members so populate the list.  Lastly, there are, I suppose, several that, for whatever reason, chose to use two, or more, names so that also means that there will never be an accurate member count.

Amazingly only 47 of the members have last login dates in the year 2020 so that means that there are a little over .33% ( that is decimal POINT thirty-three percent) of the members active for 2020.  Not even 1% of the members have checked into the forum in a very long time so although a lot of us, or maybe not a lot, are opinionated, very few actually see what we post and I'm sure that some have just decided to leave because of such a minority of people.  Really makes you wonder just how many people really do view the post and what is the future of the Times Daily Forum?  That makes us quite an exclusive club.  Personally I wish there were a lot more active members but actually viewing the data is a bit frustrating and saddening.

I know I've asked the moderators a few questions, in the past, and have yet to get a response from anyone.  I'm sure that there are some moderators there and from time to time I'm sure they are monitoring the content but kinda makes you wonder.

Could be the sparse participation among the 14000+ members may be one reason or they are expecting this forum to cover and apply to all their participating papers.  It's no longer the Times Daily forums but TN Valley Talks and the Tennessee Valley covers quite a large area.  Just a guess though.

I joined in around 2008/9, I had to redo my login in 2010 hence my HIFLYR2 I’d.  I moved from the Shoals area to Memphis and finally back to Alabama in Fairhope.  I still stop by to see the goings on.  I am in a Hong Kong posting this haha.  Actually this conservative right winger became friends with seaweed but I don’t see much traffic from him.
