I've been told the music was awful, and that our local musicians such as Angela and Zac Hacker, the Midnighters, Johnny Holland and Travis, could have done a lot better. Also I would  like to know why the grills had been removed so know one could cook out on them?  And what I have been told the fireworks only lasted about ten minutes.  And after it was over getting out was a problem also.

They couldn't have had Travis Wammack--he headlined the Jam at Sloss Lake in Russellville. Supposedly last year they had 15 K spectators, and it's been reported most kept their clothes on. No word on the exact numbers for this year, but it's a nice alternative to McFarland is you live to the south.

The fireworks at McFarland, easily heard and seen from downtown Florence, lasted about 20 minutes. A little Jerry Jeff Walker, anyone?

It was a good event. The fireworks lasted 20 minutes. The bullet boys were actually fantastic. The second stage was chock full of talent. Planet Ink was awesome. Sure, Jack Russell's Great White is past their prime but they still played a decent set. Overall it was successful. And I saw plenty of grills, just not on the beach area. I give it a 7.

I agree with the Bullet Boys statement. I think that young guitarist brings an edge that suited them. He seemed to emulate DJ Ashba from the new Guns and Roses. He was very talented. I actually got to hang out with them before and after the performance. Great, genuine dudes.
