From the Washington post:

"Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee got his facts wrong when he claimed twice during an interview Monday that President Obama was raised in Kenya.

During an interview with The Steve Malzberg Show, Huckabee said the president, "having grown up in Kenya," would have a different - more hostile - perspective on the British:

I would love to know more. What I know is troubling enough. And one thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya, his view of the Brits, for example, [is] very different than the average American.
He repeated the claim, saying:

...if you think about it, his perspective as growing up in Kenya with a Kenyan father and grandfather, their view of the Mau Mau Revolution in Kenya is very different than ours because he probably grew up hearing that the British were a bunch of imperialists who persecuted his grandfather."

First, Obama did NOT grow up in Kenya, as Huckaby should have known. Here is the desperate and dishonest spin Huckabee's spokesman placed on the matter"

"Governor Huckabee simply misspoke when he alluded to President Obama growing up in 'Kenya.' The Governor meant to say the President grew up in Indonesia."

Oh, sure, and I suppose the Huckster "misspoke" the rest of what he said when he uttered THIS:

"...growing up in Kenya with a Kenyan father and grandfather, their view of the Mau Mau Revolution in Kenya is very different than ours..."

Huckabee did NOT just misspeak, as in using "Kenya" for "Indonesia." The above- quoted material clearly shows that he had Kenya in mind, what with the reference to the grandfather and the Mau Maus. No slip of the tongue there. It is obvious what Huckabee MEANT to say!

By the way, even IF Obama had come away from discussions with his family about the Mau Maus with the notion that, "the British were a bunch of imperialists who persecuted his grandfather,"
he would have come away with a CORRECT perception. The British were indeed imperialistic and did repress and persecute the inhabitants of nations that they conquered, enslaved, and otherwise subjugated in their relentless quest for empire.

I'm sure that's the way you see it. How nice.

Yes, that's the way I see it because it's true. Do you doubt the substance of what he posted? I assure you, it is all over the web and other news sources this morning. Here is another report stating the same thing:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_...-was-raised-in-kenya

So, now that we know the report is true, are you denying that it has any significance? Don't you think the American people should be informed about the lies being told about our President by one who may decide to run against him in 2012?

I don't care where he was raised. Barry has enough check marks in the negative column that lies are unnecessary. The thing is, Barry is about half likable, the African half seems to be easy going, an everyman type. It's the other half I have a problem with, the white European socialist half, that I find abhorrent.

If my posts were overloaded with ad hominem irrelevancy, short on substance, AND spelled correctly they would be just like yours.

And of course you have absolutely NOTHING to prove that accusation that doesn't involve Fox News, and the fact that he (as well as me) would like for our country to prosper in this century, and not become some Fascist state which I find abhorrent.

Thanks for pointing out my typo.

I DID provide a link. Yahoo news. But if you google it, you will find the same story on many many news sites.

Might as well search for 'Eldorado', 'Atlantis', or the "fountain of youth".

Once more marksw posts an ad hominem irrelevancy instead of even attempting to respond with any kind of substance. Your boy Huckabee fell flat on his face, marksw, and you know it, so keep deflecting from making any kind of defense for him, since there is none!

I might feel chastised except for the fact I'm not a big Huckabee fan... I basically feel the need to counter your attack dog(emphasis on dog) methods... enjoy!
Funny as all get out that bettern-nun goes after Huckabee who MIGHT run for office, and completely ignores all the LIES by Joe Biden who is one heartbeat away from the highest office in the land. Not only that but I've never seen one democrite address all the lies of the community organizer in office now. Dang bettern-nun, how do you decide which of your two faces to shave first in the morning??? How many links do you want of those two's lies? We can tell who scares the democrites by the way they attack.
So if Biden lied to his wife about his affairs while she lay dying of cancer in the hospital, that would be OK, cause Gringrich did it too? Anything is acceptable as long as those on the opposite side of the aisle are not angels. That is some fine rationalization, and a completely amoral viewpoint, which is fine with me, but I just need to know what the rules are.

Did you mean to say the way Edwards lied to his wife about his affair and "love child" while she was dying of cancer? Only democrites think lying is OK. You know juan, I saw Newt's wife interviewed. She said the divorce was by mutual agreement and she didn't feel he had done anything inappropriate. She wasn't "dying" in the hospital-she was recovering from surgery, you just told one more democrite lie. But hey, I guess you know more than she. What has he have to do with it anyway? Like I said, you could spend a day reading all the lies told by democrites and that would only be the tip "of the iceberg" of their lying.
The issue is not the lying you dolt. The RepubTEACons proclaim to be the party of family values, meanwhile, Gingrich was having an affair while trying to impeach Clinton for lying about an affair. Dems admit they're lying, thieving, adulterers and they are good at it, and proud of it, in the fine Kennedy tradition. The RepubTEACons are hypocrites, and that is a worse offense to my sensibilities. At least Gingrish like girls.

If it's not about the lying why do you and others go out of your way to post anything, even a misspeak, and call it a lie? You're a freaking democrite, how could your "sensibilities" be more offended than that? Get off of it, the democrites are the worse hypocrites in the world. Is it an "affair" if his wife knew and didn't care because they were divorcing, as she said, by mutual agreement??? So you admit the democrites are not interested in family values? Well we knew that but it's good to see a democrite admit it for once.

Bettern-nun makes mistakes when he gets on the attack. I guess he doesn't take time to use spell check or his trusty thesaurus. He's crippled without those two things. Bettern-nun can use more words to say nothing than anyone I've ever seen.
This post would be better titled "Huckaby = Liar"
I continue to be amazed at the way these people who call themselves Christians, and talk on and on about how God has been taken out of schools, and the Ten Commandments etc. and then with almost every breath 'bear false witness' . Someone please tell me where the Bible says it is ok to bear false witness if it is for political purposes. I somehow missed that.

Are you claiming they are not Christians?

(this should be a fun answer.)

Not sure if you are addressing me , but I will answer for my part on this one.
I don't know , or for that matter really care if they are Christians or not. That's God's job, not mine.
My problem is with the religious right who make like Palin and Huckaby are so righteous and great BECAUSE they use "Christian Language" in their talks, attacking all things Democratic, and holding up their "Christian values" as reason for them to be elected, or financially supported for some office. Think about how Bush used that group - remember, he claimed he didn't ask his father (who actually knew a thing or two) about invading Iraq, he got his marching orders from "his Heavenly Father".
Well, turns out that wasn't such good advice.
My point is, if you are going to run as a devout Christian, then for Heavens sake, act like a devout Christian. Don't go around telling lies just for political points. That is not something a devout Christian would do, and I think that gives a poor advertisement for Christianity. (kinda like the Alabama Jesus tags on an old beat up clunker)

Then, there is that whole "change the Constitution to match the Bible" thing he wants to do, but that is another topic for another time.

So you hold the republicans to a higher standard than the democrats? Or is it just if someone says that are a Christian, they have to be on a pedestal?

As long as they don't declare to be one, lying and cheating is OK?

Huck is a nice guy, he may have purposely brought up Kenya or he may have made a mistake. I don't know, I'm not in his head. He is not a birther, so that's out.

Had it been someone other than Huck, say Rudy Giuliani, would you still react the same?

No, but Giuliani does not run on a Bible thumping platform, and being a transvestite is probably not heavily supported by the crazy religious right. Gingrich , a known scumbag, and Romney who although a Mormon dosen't seem to wave his "Christian moral values" around as a reason for you to vote for him is also in the same category.
Huck, Palin, and anybody else who tout their "Christianity" are the hypocrites, and it is with them I have a problem.
BTW, it isn't just politicians that I got that particular problem with. Take the gay-bashing Ted Haggard who made millions bashing the gays, and turns out, he's one himself.

Schripture tells us "judge not" http://www.gospel.com/bookmark...e-Matthew-7-1-3/9185 and we hear that a lot, but it continues: For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Notice that part about "it shall be measured to you again" .

In other words, don't throw rocks if you live in a glass house.

But, I digress- back to Huck
It is my opinion that he has no intention of actually running for president, nor Palin or Newt for that matter.
If they can make people think they will run , they can have these "exploratory committees ", and collect donations on-line that if done "properly" they can use that money for whatever the hell they want to. Once they declare they are a candidate, whatever money they collect on-line or otherwise, MUST be used in financing a campaign and can't be used as a scam to make money off of the gullible.
B, he didn't "mis-speak", he lied.

"...if you think about it, his perspective as growing up in Kenya with a Kenyan father and grandfather, their view of the Mau Mau Revolution in Kenya is very different than ours because he probably grew up hearing that the British were a bunch of imperialists who persecuted his grandfather."

It was just as bad as when Hillary "mis-spoke" (read LIED) about being shot at when she and Chelsea got off the helicopter in Bosnia. I don't like it when ANY politicain lies, but especially when they lie about lying! I think Hillary's lie may have cost her the nomination. I know she lost a lot of MY respect over that one.
