For the Tennessee Valley Region, this concept always made the most sense to me. This would greatly impact the Florence/Muscle Shoals area as well as the Huntsville/Decatur/Athens area. Hwy 20/Alt 72 could be easily be upgraded to "controlled access" highway from Muscle Shoals to near Decatur. Decatur officials are already pushing forward with the extension from I-65 to Hwy 31 just north of the river. The only problem(which could be overcome), would be crossing the river at Decatur. Shoals area officials should put this on the frontburner since the economy of the "Shoals" is connected more and more to the ecomomy of the "Valley Triad"(Huntsville/Decatur/Athens).

From some of the proposals I have seen, Killen is one of the 'hot spots' for the super highway.. Frowner
Geeeze, the last time I was in Killen, it was bumper to bumper... and you moved there to get AWAY from that????

Besides, even if it did go through Killen, it would consist of people, tractor-trailer rigs, and traffic NOT intending to stop here anyway,... THOSE are the very ones who keep OUR streets clogged up. Build the dang road, and help us out a little.

HaHaHa, you moved to the wrong place. It is better now with the new bridge but with Florence growning towards Huntsville and Huntsville growing towards Florence the traffic is going to get heavier.
