(((((TROOPER)))))) Ah, picking at my words, as usual, I see! No worries, mate! I didn't say I wasn't always proud to be an American, I just said "Most" proud to show that I am just about prouder today to be an American than I've ever been, except to see how the country came together after 9-11. Besides, anyone familiar with my posts know I voted for McCain, lol! Things have a way of happening sometimes the way they're supposed to happen! To semi quote a great man..."I am willing to extend my hand if you are willing to unclench your fist." Truce? Wink

Yep, that name is a real show stopper. I bet the Russians are already warming up their missles. We knew we should pull out all unacceptable names from the candidate list. What is wrong with us? You would think we were Americans or something. Wait a second . . . we are. I wonder how the name has anything to do with being president?

Or the fact that a socialist, the very thing most of our ancestors have fought to protect us from, now holds the reins of our country? OR the fact that our new "first" lady is a bonafide flag burner?? Yeah, I am SO excited to be American today.

Regardless of who the President of the United STates is -- whether it is Obama or had been McCain -- I am proud to be an American any day of the week and twice on Sunday -- I wouldn't want to be anything else in this world...

I agree with Dilly -- as an American Citizen it is my duty to support him, to question him, to pray for him and to do my part to make the USA the great country it can be.

BTW -- I was not for Obama and he did not get my vote...I don't think he was the best person for the job but when you have only the choice of the lesser of the evils...you don't have much of a choice...He earned his votes and rallied enough support from enough citizens to win the Presidency and he will get my support and my criticism for at least the next 4 years...

Dixie, me, too and I don't understand why people felt the need to attack me just because I said I was Most Proud to be an American today. Where did I ever say I wasn't ALWAYS proud to be an American? I will not name names, but some of these people are the reason Alabama has the kind of reputation it does. It is my duty, as well as every American, to support Obama now, whether they like him or not, he is their President, too. if they don't like it, they can leave the country. Iraq would love to have them! WOOHOOOOO! I've waited a long time to say that! Big Grin

sorry if that wasn't you I was referring too then Dilly...

Salty -- I thought the same thing -- if you don't like being an American -- go somewhere else since you think this is such a horrible country because a man ran and was unanimously voted in and was sworn in today...black, white, muslim, protestant...regardless...he will get my respect and my prayers -- he will need lots of them to be the Commander in Chief...I hope we can all put aside our differences and come together as a nation and show the world we are not the bad guys...

Dilly I definatly understand your confusion, one time my ex-wife had someone hack into my password on another page and she was sending out dirty letters and hateful things to my buddies and most of them believed me but some did not ever forgive me for that, they still think it was me.
Trooper, all I can say man is it really sounds like you have a short man complex,a wannabe,a poser, you know. When a man offers you his handshake and you tell him that he is weak because of it,that says a lot about your charactor.Just an opinion but it's mine.Or maybe you just like to push ppls buttons.

Don't worry, j/a. We know you don't talk like that. We knew the "are" was a joke. However, take a look at this...

"salty dog hasn't offered nothing but insults".

That should read "hasn't offered anything but" or even "has offered nothing but". Pot, meet kettle. Big Grin
