I don't want to see any Company go bankrupt or out of business but.

Victims for a second time

Here the Casino where the LasVegas gunman chose to stay and position his self for shooting and his murder spree is suing 1000 or more of the shooting victims in an attempt to avoid being sued or accused of having some measure of blame in the event.

I've never been to Vegas but I can assure you if I was to go no discounted prices what so ever would encourage me to patronize this casino/hotel.  As far as I'm concerned anyone that would make such a horrific move against people who were victims of the shooting deserves to lose their business and reap the benefits of their selfish decision.  Blame is to be assigned by a jury or other people based upon investigation.  This move by the casino is making victims a second time, again, due to no fault of their own.  I'm for whatever actions that the victims take against the casino/hotel and those responsible for this move should find themselves looking for new employment as they are setting up their current employer for disaster because I would boycott the casino/hotel if they  take this action against those victims.

GBRK, they aren't suing for money. The hotel did nothing wrong and should not be held liable, but of course in this day and age someone will sue them. They are not victimizing anyone. They are, and rightfully so, trying to save themselves from unfair lawsuits. Refusing to do business with them, or hoping they go out of business for something they had no control over, shows just how far we have fallen as a society.

Actually, I will say I don't know what blame the hotel/casino may or may not have as I wasn't there nor have I heard the testimony or evidence around the whole situation and I doubt you have either.  This is, and should be, a decision for a jury and IF there is something that the motel/casino did or should have done why shouldn't they share some of the blame?

While we may disagree about the hotels' ultimate potential blame or if they could have done something, at all, I do believe suing those that were targeted and had absolutely no blame, at all, is horrible even if it is to shield themselves from blame or lawsuits.  Yes we live in a litigious society but taking advantage of innocent people who have been horribly attacked and already shot or injured rather than proving you do not have any blame or contribution to what happened is not the way I think to go and if they suffer (business) loss account of that decision then so be it.  The casino/hotel may well be totally innocent but one thing is for sure they surely are no more innocent than those that found themselves in front of the automatic weapons.

Why not allow evidence or recorded video or whatever facts that are available,  that might come out to allow the ultimate decision rather than people who are not in the area or have no connection to the hotel/casino or the people involved?

"Why not allow evidence or recorded video or whatever facts that are available,  that might come out to allow the ultimate decision rather than people who are not in the area or have no connection to the hotel/casino or the people involved"?

Why wouldn't you do the same you asked me instead of immediately condemning the hotel and saying you wouldn't stay there, and saying they should lose their business? What is selfish about their decision? They aren't suing them for money. As I said, this attitude of it's always someone else's fault and they have to pay, and let's vilify them immediately and judge them guilty is part of the downfall of America. How in the **** the hotel would have liability is beyond me. So can I assume that if someone has an accident in front of your house they can sue you?
