I don't understand what happened today???

It seems that at long last they have finally figured out who the troublemakers were.

If you really want the true story. The fact is that TDF doesn't know who the troublemakers are so they ban the posters who are reported most often. They don't have time to read all the crap.
We all know there is power in numbers and the black sheep group has more people posting here. Do you ever notice that where there is one of them there are several? It doesn't matter what a poster says if one of them doesn't like it they all gang up and harrass them.

They have gone as far as to register under a name for the sole purpose of posting poster's real names. There was a filthy one yesterday morning by one of their one shot wonders using a poster's real name.
For your own safety and well being DO NOT give these people your real name or personal info. It is a shame because there are some in the group who I feel are genuinely nice people. Only a small handful of the group do the most hateful things but they will all report you if they are asked to.
A poster named Larry Tate has posted vile lies and made disgusting insinuations but he/she remains. Tizzy is also another troublemaker. They both know things only a banned poster would know.
If you are solicited via pm to join a certain group do it if you want to. Do it anonymously using an untraceable email without any hint as to your real identity in it. It will be shared with other members. For instance do not use real names in your email addy.
Do not meet these people. Do not give them myspace or facebook links. Do not give them your cell phone number you will recieve ugly text messages if they turn on you. For crying out loud don't tell where you work or where you live. Don't give info about your kids such as schools, grades,etc.
If you are already a member and haven't disclosed your identity think long and hard before you do. It is not worth dealing with the bad ones to meet the good ones. That is a shame but it is the truth. You know the saying one bad apple spoils the whole bunch. It applies here. Of course there are more than one bad apple.
I made a statement in a post last night . I said treat everyone like it is their last day to live. I intend to do just that.

You joined the forums YESTERDAY and yet you know that everyone that was banned were "friends"...yea, I'm not going there...I just wish the drama would stop. It was old 6 months ago and is still old today. We should all be able to talk without everything becoming a 3rd grade playground fight...

Sweetreat, I appreciate your response and advice. I’ve been reading the forums long enough to have picked up on the fact that there is a group calling themselves black sheep as well as another group that don’t seem to like the so called black sheep. I don’t have any idea what that group calls itself, I’ve only seen some derogatory names given to them. Troll (yes, I know what a forum troll is, its been defined on here more than once) and henchbroad (that one I don’t get, I just remember seeing it used a few times) are the two that stick out in my mind.

I can’t even begin to imagine why anyone would EVER give out their personal information to people they only talk to online. That’s just nuts. Have you people never watched To Catch A Predator? There are some crazy individuals out there even in our little corner of Alabama.

I’m not looking for a group to join. I would certainly never make the mistake of announcing that I was going to be meeting someone or even a group (any group) from here. I’m not that desperate to make new friends. I just couldn’t set back and say nothing about what happened yesterday. It wouldn’t take a brain surgeon to see that the discipline wasn’t dealt out fairly.

Yes, DixieChik, I just created an account yesterday. That doesn’t mean I don’t read the forums. I would bet that there are hundreds of people who just read and never post their opinion. You never know, someone might jump their case if they are posting for the first time and have the audacity to give an unpopular opinion or heaven forbid act like they pay attention.

Maybe I misunderstood myself, but I'm pretty sure my point was that the punishment dealt out was not fairly distributed among the guilty parties.

Are you so jaded by your forum experiences that there is simply no chance at all that sweetreat might simply want to be able to post fun threads and not be remembered for her previous negativity? I am going to go out on a limb here and say something, but I really REALLY don't want to get involved in all this. First of all, my feeling about JohnReb doesn't have a thing to do with what I am about to say. I won't blame anyone else just for thier association. Having said that, I have figured out that there are two "groups" who seem to fuss a lot, but honestly, I NEVER see those from the group who call themselves the Black Sheep instigating, only defending. Sometimes after being slammed forever, someone from that group will get angry and retaliate, but that is human nature and I would probably loose my cool after a while, too. However, they are blamed over and over again for everything and many of them either will not post here anymore or have been banned. They are always having open get togethers and inviting people to meet them, so they must be a decent sort as they don't try to hide that they are "Black Sheep" or hide their identities from new people they meet. Honestly, I think they could have chosen a better name for themselves because the term black sheep has always meant troublemaker or odd man out. I'm sure when they started calling themsleves that they didn't think it might cause trouble in the future. At any rate, every time one of them tried to post something, someone else from this other group comes on afterward just to be nasty and usually says something rude. In my opinion, they banned the right ones this time.

Exactly PS9 but getting the "victims" that got banned this time to see that fact is like waiting on the lottery...they act all righteous in their actions and then get new identities and come on and do the same thing again...it's childish and ridiculous...and the "readers" that "defend them" are just as silly...sad that good forum fun has to result in threads like this that only "instigate"...poor pitiful people...they got in trouble and got punished (temporarily I'm sure)...if they would learn to get along with others and not continuously harass and stalk other posters...maybe the 'bully' rule should apply to the forums like it does in real life...however, I don't trust the mods to be fair and just in that situation...they banned the black sheep and the drama continued...they banned this group and now they are back...it's a never-ending cycle...I see why so many have left the forums...

I have to agree that the Black Sheep seem to be a great group of people who never seemed to have an ounce of trouble until three ousted members (ousted because they were found to be mean and hateful in nature by the other members and they had to oust them before they ruined the good name of the whole group)decided to turn on them and smear the whole bunch. I have been here for years and saw the way the whole thing played out. I think that now, since the TD seems to understand who the troublemakers are, that all banned Black Sheep should be invited back here so that the forum can again be the great place it once was.

Thanks OB for pointing out why I put more stock in PS's post... Not to mention, I've posted with PS on OTHER TOPICS... Oh and for the ones that don't know about the IGNORE feature -- it is such a wonderful tool on these forums...
