This law seems silly, from what I understand from the article in conn. law police can only claim PTSD on workers comp from human related shootings. What about all the other stressors related to their occupation? Traffic fatalities? Responding to a suicide?

The article makes it seem as if the officer is claiming PTSD solely due to shooting the animal. I don't know if they just didn't write the article well or if the writer is trying to spin it. It seems like the officer is claiming PTSD on 1. Seeing the mauled woman and 2. The animal coming after him, knowing that it would want to do the same thing to him.

Being an EMT there have been things I've seen things that bother me and still do. This would probably qualify. During our schooling we are trained and given techniques on how to control stress during the event and after the event resources and counseling are made available. We aren't anything special, it bothers us just the same as you.
