You alabama fans need to get over the fact that auburn did a great job in 2006 and in the cotton bowl today. sure we don't have championships under our belt ( we would have one but we got robbed of it ) but we have won five years in a row. It has always been a rival between alabama and auburn and you ppl should know that. I think its time to swallow your pride and face the facts. I pull for bama also until they play auburn. they are both in the state of alabama so who in the heck cares if they win. at least its a team in alabama showing other states our good our football teams can be.

Did you see Pat Summerall during the game? He looked like death warmed over..

Yeah, between FOX "pulling" for the Children of the Korn, and the refs, I felt lucky we pulled this one off.

I think what you mean to say is that maybe you got robbed of appearing in the championship game, but I certainly wouldn't be claiming a would-be victory.
FYI: Auburn claims 1957 AP national championship. Other years that we could (but do not claim, as they were not awarded) claim include: 1983 and 2004. There were several in the early 20th Century, but will have to look them up.

And no, Auburn didn't get robbed this year. We didn't win it on the field and that is what counts.

LOL. I am glad to see that AU isn't claiming the 2004 NC since they didn't even play in the championship game.
WOW a national championship in "57...What a tradition they have on the plains....LOL "won it on the field where it counts" How can you win it on the field when you didn't even play in the game! Face it Auburn will always be a second tier school and Always be in the Shadows of the REAL state UNIVERSITY!...But yall can always wish in one hand, and you know what you can do in the other.

Yawn......at least our school doesn't have a track record of boosters selling recruits to bammer like slaves to the highest bidder, then nearly getting the death penalty....and at least our school doesn't have the need nor the indecentcy for buying coaches, who have a track record of not sticking around, for 30 pieces of silver...all because they are jealous of their rival's recent success, right after they ate their own....

You can have your "tradishun". I will just enjoy the current events and success.

Just curious, corndog: is that all you can do, belittle people? And, did you go to Alabama? You sure do not act like any Alabama alums I know (one who happens to be the son of my battalion commaner I served under in Iraq)...

Kontan: Ditto!! WDE!!

I 100% agree with you......especially when the truth hurts. Then, all they have left to show for is delusionalism.

BCS divided by C = B.S. is why we didn't get to play in the game....we will take 13-0 just the same.

However, bammer has no room to talk. Back in 1966, bammer was unbeaten, and claims to have won it in 1964 and 1965. Notre Dame (if I am correct) tied with someone (can't remember offhand) and STILL won the Mythical National Championship (mythical because the NCAA does not award national championships in NCAA DIV 1A football, and second, there was not B.S. Bowl Championship Game or Series like we have today).
I may be a Bama fan, but I also think Auburn was robbed. Not only should they have played in the 04 NC, they probably would have won. The BC$ is horrible, the whole thing should be done away with in favor of a play off system. Each game would be a bowl and have sponsors and such. Plus, you can still have exhibition bowls for teams with 6 wins but didn't make the play-offs.
Yes, I think Auburn got robbed of a chance to play in the BCS championship. But the one constant is this: it is in the past as were Alabama's claims in the 60,s. I don't do very well on chewing on that ham bone we had last Thanksgiving. But I do look forward to the venison stew that's in the slowcooker for tomorrow.

Brentaboy..I did attend the University of Alabama and recieved my BA from there in Electrical Engineering..then later went on to get my masters degree (at the expense of my employer). I dont mean to belittle you but why must you and all the other AUBIES be so arrogant about a few good seasons in football..Its like yall dont know how to act when you have a little success..I am 38 years old and I can remember Alabama winning the National Championship 4 times...We will take our tradition...You have to have a past to have tradition, and that is what makes college football so great is all the great traditions and rivalries! How many championships has Auburn had since you have been on this earth? By the way I believe the great '57 season you speak of was not that recent and if I am not mistaken they had to share the championship with Ohio State. ROLL TIDE!

Yes, we WILL need to take off our shoes and start counting toes at the rate Auburn is going beating bammer....No, we are not afraid of Benedict Nick (LSU's new name for Saban- see various LSU websites for examples).

BTW, congrats on admitting that you graduated from Alabama. I respect you for that...nothing more, nothing less, as I know what it takes to earn a degree from an institute of higher learning.

Sad you say I am? I think not....I visited both, and chose Auburn, mainly because Auburn has a better ROTC program. And to stay away from arrogant people like yourself.
Wanker:

Corndog is now on my "ignore" list. He definately is not like any of the Alabama alumni I have known and met before.

In fact, I had a nice, 3- hour conversation with an Alabama grad earlier today, a retired (24 years) Army lieutenant colonel. Had alot of talk about Saban and the like, mainly that broke the ice, but we talked about other, more important things.
Brenten you are so right.Even if I am an 1980 grad from the lovest town on the plains.I still love Alabama football. Not much to cheer about the last few years. But I have been taking all the jabs in a laugh it off kinda way. I Beg all of the Alabama fans to be kind and civil until THE GAME next year. Remember, the more you rag and brag the more you set yourself up.
I think AU did a fine job this year, and they ARE a school in Alabama, so everyone should be proud of them, including Bama fans. I am a Bama fan, and I can see that AU was much better and did a good job, so I will cry "uncle" on this topic.

BUT, since I work with mostly TN fans, and all their talk is really sickening... *gag*
Not only do I work with a bunch of Vawls fans, almost every where I turn there is a big T or orange checkerboard. I think Saban will make the program competitive again. Barely beating Vandy really says a lot about how low we were last season.

It wasn't all bad, I'm an MT grad and fan. It's a lot of fun being part of a D-1 program in it's infancy. New traditions being formed, watching the crowds grow, enjoying things that other teams take for granted, such as a bowl game, as a huge achievement.

Go Blue Raiders!
