I think the TD needs to add these rules to the fourm rules.

''No Flaming''

''This includes any kind of personal insult, flame or intimidation. Responding in kind to a flame message is viewed as equally unacceptable, regardless of who started it. If you believe you are being insulted or otherwise flamed by another poster, please PM a forum moderator or admin rather than responding.

“Naming and shaming” this only causes arguments.
There is no need to turn disagreements into heated arguments. Rather than letting these threads become flame wars please agree to disagree or the thread is likely to be locked.''

Stay on topic do not hijack the topic by silly stuff and getting off topic. This is where two or more Members can engage in a Formal Debate and stay on topic. I hope the TD will at least think about adding these rules. It would be a big help to all.

Sometimes one thing leads to another. It doesn't necessarily mean the thread has been hijacked.I like it when things lighten up and a good laugh can be found on the tdf.I don't like personal insults and try to avoid that arena (although, the temptation is great to engage in hostile exchange). There is a difference between those who purposely set out to hijack a thread and those of us who just wonder in and go with the flow.I think we all know the difference in the two.
Nobluedog...I think people were kicked off last week for flaming or personal attacks.

Use that triangle icon on the right side of the posts & report flame posts as you run across them.

If it's someone who habitually disrupts conversations & it appears that's their only purpose for using the forums, you might also send a PM to moderators with links to the posts in question.

Hey ,why dont you take a dose of your own medicine ? Every thread your in its the same ole reply from you .
Joy's link does mention flaming as it relates to internet use. It does mean what you intended.

Flaming is a hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users. Flaming usually occurs in the social context of a discussion board, Internet Relay Chat (IRC) or even through e-mail. An Internet user typically generates a flame response to other posts or users posting on a site, and such a response is usually not constructive, does not clarify a discussion, and does not persuade others. Sometimes, flamers attempt to assert their authority, or establish a position of superiority over other users. Other times, a flamer is simply an individual who believes he or she carries the only valid opinion. This leads him or her to personally attack those who disagree. In some cases, flamers wish to upset and offend other members of the forum, in which case they can be called "trolls". Most often however, flames are angry or insulting messages transmitted by people who have strong feelings about a subject.
