I have nothing against those that enter legally, but those that are illegal, as soon as they are discovered being illegal, they should be sent back.

I'd like to see all businesses that knowingly hire illegals, to be given strict fines when discovered that they are hiring illegals, each and every time they are discovered.

I think if the federal gov't cracked down on that, alone, for a starting point, we'd see a difference pretty quickly. It burns my buscuits that they come over here illegal and are able to get assistance, and other things for free, by being deceptive.

I don't care what genre of immigrant they are either, if they don't have a green card/work visa and visitor pass to be legally here, then I say we should ship them out. Smiler

Is it just me, or why is it every message board forum and news forum I go to has pretty much the same responses: deport, fine companies that hire illegals...etc...and yet the Fed Gov't does nothing to our wishes?

I see the same responses here.

Our gov't apparently is not of the people, by the people, or for the people anymore...Sad it is......

One problem I see is a lack of quality candidates running....and those who should run refuse due to various reasons....some good, some bad.

You got it, B'Man.... they have done it so subtely that we became acclimated to it...

I say BUILD THE DANG FENCE, POST THE GUARDS!!!!

And I have more than ONE reason for taking that stance too!
I have said it before :
Make Joe Arpio (probably not spelled correct) the Sherif in Phoenix, the "Illegal Immigrant Czar". Let him build his tent jails in the desert. When illegals are captured, they should spend at least 6 months in one of his tent cities on a diet of green balogna sandwiches before he is sent back across the border. Catch him again, make it a year.
If we just send 'em back, it's like a bunch of kids waiting in line for the merry-go-round. They just try again tomorrow. Seems like I once heard that most illegals have been caught 7 or 8 times.

As I have said many times before, not just a fence but a 20 foot WALL with the U.S. Army in charge of security NOT border guards. They wind up in jail for shooting a drug smuggler.

A 20' Fence of Razor Wire would do it... or maybe like someone said once before on an older post... plant some of those thorn-type bushes, (whatever they called it) about 25 yeards and NO ONE or NOTHING could get through it when it grew ... ????

You left out the fact that Sheriff Joe's jail, err, tent city, the inmates all wear pink underwear, the TV is tuned to the Disney Channel and 700 Club I think, plus the food is very cheap.

He gets sued by the ACLU all the time, and beats them everytime.

We definately need him in a national position.

I am boycotting another of your nonsens polls, you don't provide any middle ground or alternatives that are acceptable to me.
IMPRISON ANYONE CAUGHT PAYING WAGES TO AN UNDOCUMENTED WORKER, OR WITHOUT WITHOLDING SS TAXES ON PAYROLL FOR ANY BUT TRULY CASUAL LABOR.

Ed, I dont think it is nonesense... I think these ought to be the options... in fact these ARE currently the options... thing is, we dont use option #2 UNLESS it benefits someone in power....

We are all going to have to face it... There are so many ILLEGALs in this country that if someone DID make some sort of LAW that helped Americans, then it would take years to sift through all them. Same with the Middle Easterners... people are quick to say THEY are here legally... NOT!!!
I think we, as Americans, are not getting to the bottom of the illegal immigration problem. The real problem is mostly one that only we can looking at the higher-ups. The problem is not the poor immigrant worker who comes here, but the powerful politicans whose hands are being greased by greedy corporations. There are zillions of lobbyists in Washington D.C. who work tirelessly to make sure these politicans are not doing anything that would jeopardize the corporation from maximizing profits by having a low-cost labor item.

When Cheney shot his lawyer-hunting buddy last year at the Armstrong Ranch, the ranch was said to have 50,000 acres. Does anybody know how many illegal aliens it takes to keep a 50,000-acre ranch operating to the wishes of Ms. Katharine Armstrong? Ms. Armstrong is a former Board Member of Haliburton, serving on the Board when Cheney was their CEO. Ms. Armstrong also declared, the day after the shooting, that Cheney was "not drunk" when the shooting occurred. She reported that he had only had one beer for lunch. Dickey Cheney had ONLY ONE BEER?

Poor Scott McClellan, former White House Spokesperson. Can you umagine how much Dramamine he had to take each day because of the dizzying spin he had to come up with to cover all of the lies and coverups?
