Illegal Immigrants and Dual identities

I think the question should be, "Who will help THEM?" These people are dirt poor and need our help! If I were in the same position, I'd sneak into America illegally, too, to get what is needed for the safety and health of my family.

I don't mind them coming to America for a better life. Just do it legally. Go through the training for being a citizen and abide by the rules. I have seen this happen when I was at my dentist office. They used 2 different names but close to the same so that they had insurance. We can put a man on the moon, charge people 4.00 a gallon for gas but we can't police illegal aliens.

I received my voter's card in the mail yesterday .I was looking at it and on the back side it says >>

You must have Gov. issued ID
1. Ga. Driver's Lic.
2. U.S. Passport
3. State or Fed . Issued ID
4. U.S. Military ID
5. Tribal Phote ID

Then it goes on to say this >>>

No ID - No Problem
Come by our office before the election with proof of address, full legal name and date of birth and we will issue a FREE Voter Photo ID card to you .

What the hell are we thinking ? If they dont have one of the 5 ID's to begin with ,then they are IIEGAL !!! Why let them vote on our rules ?
Does this not upset yall ? They can get a fake address ,electric bill and lie about they name as yall have said in this thread .

Im sitting here at work right now and in walked a man ,needing directions to Helen , Ga. He didnt speak one word of english ,had his directions from map quest ,came in asking me if I speak spanish ,I said "Taco Bell " I said no spanish ,Im from America, I speak english !!!! lol
I pointed the way to Helen for him ,but I bet he stops 100 more times to ask .

Great answer tnt! I've always felt that if they are going to come to America they should learn OUR language and adapt to OUR customs NOT us have to learn THEIR language and adapt to THEIR
customs. I promise you that if you or I moved to Mexico we would have to learn to speak Spanish cause they ain't gonna make every effort to make it easy for us to live in that country (including printing English on every can and package we buy at the grocery store like the Americans do for the Spanish speaking people.)

Try this one. If you call DISH Network technical assistance and dial 1 for English, you usually get a heavily accented arab or spanish voice that is basically unintelligible. I do expect English that is English when I press 1. One dear young anglo voice did tell me to just hang up and call back until you get "one of us".

I didnt mean to sound like a shrew. I am just fed up with ILLEGALS! I have to abide by the laws of this Great Country. I EXPECT everyone else to as well. My Great Great Grandparents immigrated to this Country from Ireland. They came thru Ellis Island, and got their citizenship. They were PROUD to fly the American Flag. They were in a Free Land. They were AMERICANS.
Now there are people in my city flying the Mexican flag, living 5-10 families in one house( which causes the city to lose revenue in property taxes, and utiities)Buying the car tags in Mississippi (so they dont have to have insurance.) Now, You go to the grocery store and all the packaging is in spanish. Our children are forced to take spanish in school. WHERE THE CRAP HAS AMERICA GONE??? Im all for people coming to America LEGALLY!! THAT IS THE whole point of this forum.
If I went to live in a new country( which I cant blame anyone for wanting a better life for their children) I WOULD LEARN THERE LANGUAGE, AND DO IT LEGALLY!!!
Thats all Im saying. If they need foodstamps, DO IT LEGALLY, like the Legal citizens have to. If they need WIC, Do it legally like the Legal citizens have to. I have yet to feel the need to have multiple identies for myself. That I will never understand. And until The rest of the citizens ( who have NOT profitted off of them)do something. IT WILL NEVER CHANGE.

Army Mom, you make several vaid points, but there are two areas that should be clarified.

Yes, many items are packaged with both English and Spanish instructions, just as many are packaged with French and even German. Unless the product is produced in Mexico (and Wal-Mart in Russellville has several of these), instructions are at worst bi-lingual.

As for being forced to learn Spanish, I would like some verification of this. Yes, even in the last millenium I was "forced" to learn some Spanish in the 6th grade due the curriculum being based on South American studies. In high school, in order to earn an advanced academic diploma, one must take two years of a foreign language. There is usually a choice of French, Spanish, Latin, and perhaps even German. I don't know what Russellville offers.

The salient fact is illegals would not come to the US if employers didn't hire them. Boycott those employers who hire those without documentation. Report those employers--not just once, but until someone does something about it.
