**Thanks to DF for the 'I'm so old' idea...**

I'm so old that when I went to a Braves game with my family, we had behind home plate seats, thanks to an attorney I've worked with (not for) for years now.

Anyway, it's where ALL of the high and mighty sit. I gave strict instruction to my family to 'act right'. If you know the song 'Hey Ya' by OutKast, they say the following:

Shake it, shake it like a Polaroid Picture

Now, one of the group singers (Andre 3000)is two rows in front of us because they show him on the big screen during the playing of the song.

My son (then 5 years old but now 7) YELLS over the music and I mean, yells..."MOM, WHAT'S A POLAROID PICTURE??"

Talk about feeling old. Frowner

I'm so old...

It was a big thing when our house got an aqua Princess phone.

I remember Sparky at the Shoals Theatre.

I remember the Norwood burning twice.

I remember when it really was 7 Points.

I remember when all Hardees had pagoda roofs.

I remember when the fair was on Chisholm Road.

I remember when you had to go to Blevins to buy a record.

I remember when I could barely walk my mother would place .27 in my hand to give Ms. Ollie for flake rolls at Culpepper's. (Now I would pay 10.00 just to be able to buy a dozen.)

hey, my sis and i used to do that Smiler
sticks and twigs were used for outlining the rooms.

We always used pine straw. I think that is where I developed my "condition" of rearranging furniture and redecorating all the time. Pine straw was a fine building material- you just had not be careful not to get any up your shorts!! Razzer

I'm so old I remember that big honkin' Christmas tree next to The Village in Sherfield.

The thing was at least 500 feet tall and had a million multicolored bulbs in it. It was the surest sign that Santa was just around the corner.

remember the big one with clear lights in the corner of Woolco's parking lot close to where Krystal now sits?

I used to shop at Kmart on Florence Blvd. and Walmart at the end of Southgate Mall.

I remember flying kites where regency Square Mall is located.

My friends and I could ride our bikes to get cheeseburgers at Cassimus Cafe on Huntsville Rd.

The Police station was in the Municipal Bldg. in Florence.

J.C. Penny's and Sears were in downtown Florence.

Coffee vs. Bradshaw was the big game of the year.

My parents let me play outside all I wanted without fear of me being abducted.

Pot was probably the worst drug any kid did in high school.

Hi Y'all,

Anyone remember seeing the original Burma Shave signs along the highways? This was before the interstate highway system. The first time I drove across country, without the interstate system, I had the unique pleasure of driving Route 66 -- and it was a wonderful way to see America.

And the Burma Shave signs alway gave us entertainment:

SAID FARMER BROWN
WHO'S BALD ON TOP
"WISH I COULD
ROTATE THE CROP"
BURMA-SHAVE

HENRY THE EIGHTH
SURE HAD TROUBLE
SHORT-TERM WIVES
LONG-TERM STUBBLE
BURMA-SHAVE

SHE PUT A BULLET
THROUGH HIS HAT
BUT HE'S HAD CLOSER
SHAVES THAN THAT
WITH BURMA-SHAVE

Beautiful memories! Of course, the only time I will admit to being a senior is to get a discount at the restaurant!

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
