A new Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday shows a majority of Americans do not think President Donald Trump should be impeached and removed from office.

Only 37% of respondents think the president should be impeached and removed, while 57% do not.

In a clear partisan divide, 4% of Republicans and 73% of Democrats surveyed support impeachment. Those who responded against impeachment include 95% of Republicans surveyed and 21% of Democrats.

The poll was conducted between Sept. 19 and 23, just as Trump was in the thick of a controversy after news of a whistleblower complaint from within the intelligence community surfaced about a phone call with Ukraine's president asking for an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden, a 2020 candidate.

The Quinnipiac survey shows not much change in public opinion from last month, when a Monmouth poll also showed that 59% of respondents were opposed to impeachment and removal from office.

The Democrats are pushing two tracks at the same time.  Some say the impeachment effort should be streamlined to finish by November and sent to the Senate.  However, with all the documentation and persons called for testifying before the committees, I fail to see how there can be a streamlined inquiry.  Plus, the whistleblower's ID is to be kept secret.  How is that going to work?  If it goes to the Senate, Trump's lawyers would have to depose him.  All the contacts in the report must be made known.  Second and third hand information is not allowed in court.  In fact, Trump could petition either the Chief Justice of the US (as the presiding judge in a Senate trial), or all of SCOTUS to deny such evidence.  Even the transcript might be precluded as it was brought forth due to the whistleblower's report.

I guess the Democrats tricked Trump, et all, into hiding the phone conversations on secret servers?

Where to began?

First - The private, or secret, server was a Government server, not a personal one as Hillary used illegally.  Actually, the digital contents were moved from a confidential "Government" Server to an even more confidential "Government" server located in the White House.  Hillary, while Secretary of State, a Government employee, kept classified and Government related information on a personal server/computer that was located not on Government property and behind Government firewalls but located in a bathroom.

Second - There are plenty of reasons to store things on the private/secret server and that is confidentiality of information such as conversations with people that those conversations or documents have need of secrecy such as dealing with National Security and/or interactions with foreign leaders whose conversations often need to be kept secret and confidential otherwise a President, no matter the party, would have a problem if those dealing with him/her aren't assured that what they say will be kept in confidence.  By their very nature often communications and interactions with a President needs to be classified secret or limited to a small number of people.

Third - The information that was put on the server was put there, not by Trump but by others in Trump's lawyers or other employees of the White House for keeping confidential given the huge number of leaks that occurred from early on in Trump's administration.

Trump - directed that the contents be revealed the and there are people who have security clearances that would allow them access to the documents and information that are kept on the secret/confidential government servers so they aren't hidden or destroyed beyond recovery.  Other national leaders have to have confidence that their private conversations with an American President will remain private and confidential or it will hurt our relations with other nations and leaders.  HAD Trump directed that the contents of the conversations be destroyed there would be numerous calls for impeachment for obstruction of justice and then he would be hiding them but he didn't do that.   Hillary destroyed hard drives, cell phones, sim cards, and bleached data to prevent recovery of 30,000+ emails or conversations and preventing them from being analyzed and reviewed yet no calls for obstruction of justice or prosecution account of that.  There were efforts on the part of the Republicans to hold her accountable for her actions but she was protected by the Administration and protected by a highly partisan FBI and Justice Department who admitted she was careless but not prosecutable account she didn't INTEND to do it, or so they said. You give Hillary a blank pass and total absolution yet want to crucify Trump for nothing near as severe.

One other difference between Trump's communications and those of, say, Hillary Clinton while she was Secretary of State and that is Trump made no overt efforts to destroy data/information such that it could not be recovered or discovered.  The information of Trump's is there just restricted but Hillary deleted, erased, bleach bit destroyed her emails beyond recovery.  She also had cell phones and hard drives destroyed so 30,000+ emails were never available to anyone.  That's totally different than what Trump is connected with.

There may be more points but these are just a few that came to mind regarding this server.   None of these, I'm sure, will have any sway with an already hyper biased person that has absolutely no impartiality when it comes to anything Trump but if there is a question about whether there is an attempt to cover up something then details such as private server versus government server does mean something.  We don't know if the information was moved from a confidential government server to an even more protected one at Trump's direction or one of the White House lawyers but the information was still available for viewing or listening to it was just restricted to individuals with a more restricted clearance.

This, I believe, will be the modus operandi of Democrats and Never Trumpers from now on out as they continue their attempted silent coup of a legitimately elected President because they cannot accept it.  These people are so beside themselves with seething anger and inner hostility that they will do anything to attempt to circumvent the legal and proper election of Donald Trump.  The level of derangement of many of these individuals is beyond measure and historically unprecedented for any past President.

There have always been those who decry the election of a legitimately elected President and people who protest and are angry with a President but nothing historically comes to the level of what we are seeing with President Trump.  Even members of his own party and related to his own political positions are insane with hostility and anger at Trump because he, in their minds, doesn't belong or is not "good enough" to be President.  Some hold the positions they do because they have been slammed and humiliated by Trump's sarcasm or ridicule in attacking them.

Regarding the whistleblower, and I believe this person will harm whistleblowers in the future because they are using that platform and position in an attempt to further tarnish the President and stir up lies and unsubstantiated accusations based more in conjecture than anything else.  Who can blame Trump for striking back on Twitter or in the media after suffering three years of a Russian Collusion hoax now to see yet another attempt to diminish his accomplishments by slander and false accusations?  I, too, believe that this whistleblower will be revealed to be a partisan hack who attempts to use innuendo as facts in a partisan attempt to yet again satisfy the inner rage that goes on in these demented, deranged people who cannot accept an election that their desired was soundly defeated.

Agreed, the CIA changed the requirements for whistleblower report at nearly the same date as the report.  That is, first hand info no longer required.

Great job at deflecting from the topic, but Trump's Administration hid the phone conversations on a server earmarked for the most top security. Nothing in these calls is that top secret. They hid the call because they knew it was wrong... plain and simple and no amount of Republican spin will change that.

Deflecting? I thought the purpose of hiding something was so it wouldn't and couldn't get out such as deleting it entirely like another, former, government official did by using bleach bit to totally destroy the information beyond repair or total destruction of the hard drives or memory devices by totally destroying them?  How about, with respect to another Republican President a famous 18+ minute erasure of recorded tape by Nixon's secretary that was beyond restoration with any of that day's technology which precipitated his certain impeachment and resignation, now that's hiding something.

Answer this if you will, for all our forum members since you are so adamant about Trump (no Trump's employees/lawyers) "hiding" information.  If you hide something that doesn't mean you release it to the press and public does it?  Trump ordered that the call's contents be released to Congress, the press, and the public.  How do you reconcile that with your statement that they were hiding it?  Trump's people/employees didn't hide the digitized information , in secret, not telling anyone but they moved it from one server to another, more secure, one.  They stated because of all the leaks that previously happened in the Adminstration's past.  Regardless of moving the data they still released it when they could have cited executive priviledge and not done so.

Donald Trump --> Releases the contents of the Call. ( outcome - not hiding, transparency further futile attempts to make something out of nothing in order to accomplish a silent coup of a legitimately elected President whom they hate, )

Hillary Clinton --> Bleach Bit data destruction, destruction of computers and phones leading to impossibility of recovery of info -> Hiding and Obstruction of justice at best - (Outcome - no trial, let off the hook because Justice officials carefully reworded their statement to omit language that would require indictment and let her off the hook because they said "She didn't intend" to do those felonious acts)

Bill Clinton -> Lied (caught lying) under oath about Oval Office Lewinsky affair (Outcome apologized for publicly ( Impeached by House, Saved by Democratic Senate but had law license revoked in the process but remained President, Protected by the same party politicians that now want to get rid of Trump for made up manufactured things that have been proven lies)

Nixon -> Erasure and recording over of previously recorded White House tapes of conversations within the Oval Office involving President Nixon -> Hiding, Obstruction of Justice ( Outcome certain impeachment leading to resignation)

Also, BTW Crans, Talk about HIDING and concealing things I didn't hear you crowing or mentioning THIS ARTICLE and these events of concealing things from the Freedom of Information Act?  Care to comment on these also?    --> OR THIS?<--

So what is TRUE DECEIT, Concealing Truth?  One only has to look at Committee chairman, Democrat representative Adam Schiff and his rendition of Trump's Phone Call with the Ukrainian leader.  Talk about concealing or manipulating the truth.  NOTHING, absolutely nothing about what Adam Schiff said Trump's call contained was true or legit but it was all total lies and this from a committee chairman.  The media is doing journalistic calisthenics in attempt to justify (OR HIDE) what Schiff did and protect him as well as trying to deflect calls for Schiff to resign from his chairman position.  How many believe Trump would receive the same treatment (from the media or Democrats) if He had been caught lying and lied, every word, as Schiff did?  Those lies would have been added to the reasons they want to impeach him and there would be no forgiveness or acceptance of lies as a parody.  You can be assured that Trump saying he was doing a parody would never have been accepted as an answer.

The media is all willing to forgive and forget Schiff's actual public lies but the same is willing to convict Trump over things he never did and spend countless days and hours reporting on the false accusations as if they were true.  That is true lies and deception.

So, let me get this straight... Clinton is guilty because she went through 7 investigations and they found no reason to prosecute.

Trump is innocent because of Hillary. You just wrote a full page on Hillary, the Clintons, and Obama.... and not one word on the topic at hand.

That sum it up for you?

No real answers to my questions L. Cranston,

referring to the above post of mine, which I will not repost for the size but I will repost though the two questions from that article I specifically requested a reply from you on.

#1) Answer this if you will, for all our forum members since you are so adamant about Trump (no Trump's employees/lawyers) "hiding" information.  If you hide something that doesn't mean you release it to the press and public does it? Trump ordered that the call's contents be released to Congress, the press, and the public.  How do you reconcile that with your statement that they were hiding it?  Trump's people/employees didn't hide the digitized information, in secret, not telling anyone but they moved it from one server to another, more secure, one.  They stated because of all the leaks that previously happened in the Administration's past.  Regardless of moving the data they still released it when they could have cited executive privilege and not done so.

#2) Also, BTW Crans, Talk about HIDING and concealing things I didn't hear you crowing or mentioning THIS ARTICLE and these events of concealing things from the Freedom of Information Act?  Care to comment on these also?    --> OR THIS?<--

... The forum continues to await answers  ...

Not specifically looking for a response, or reply, regarding this but I have seen post where you decry other forum members for their continual bringing up of Hillary Clinton or things connected with her claiming it to be Clinton derangement but articles Like This reinforce the belief that Hillary will yet once again throw herself into the 2020 Presidential race.  I personally don't think she will but I do believe she, more than anyone else alive, would want to and desires to run for the Presidency (she craves that power and to be the first woman President).  I don't think she will because I think her time has passed and she won't get the same favors from the DNC that she got in 2016.  Bernie got shafted, but this time around Warren is in the race and I don't think will idly stand by and let Hillary step in front of her.  Too many candidates have already spent far too much money trying to get the nomination and paid 2020 dues to set by and allow Hillary to have untouched re-entry back into a preferential position as a Presidential candidate for 2020.  But I've posted this to say people still comment on Hillary because she continues to stick around and won't go away so she remains relevant for comment.

Please though don't deflect on the two questions ask of you by commenting on the statement about Hillary.

The Obama administration did whatever they did... they released whatever... ALL POTUS do some strange things with regards to information released. The Obama administration received more requests than ever.. and did whatever they did. His policies aren't in place and he's no longer POTUS. Those days are over.

After the way Republicans cried about 'Obama just blames Bush'... Republicans sure do whine about Obama and Hillary a lot.

Trump only released notes on the calls after the Impeachment was started. Trump also hid this information, against the laws concerning such things, for over a month... Until the whistle-blower complaint was brought to the attention of Congress.

The timeline of the events doesn't match the Republican narrative. Attacking the messenger is also the new normal for Republicans.

I don't remember Hillary refusing to testify or show up...I think Hillary testified for 11hours or something like that... She didn't cry, on twitter, about all the investigations. She stood up and faced it. If you whiny little Republicans want to cry about Hillary, then lets treat Trump like Hillary... Lets see Trump testify to Congress for 11hrs. Impeachment would be a certainty.

Another triggered post that isn't coherent. Are you off your meds?

You know the impeachment movement might have more credibility if so many of these obviously deranged democrats, like Maxine Waters,  hadn't been crying impeachment from the moment Trump was elected.  The futility of their efforts resulting in vast amounts of millions of Dollars being spent in the Muller Investigation which was nothing but a farce led by Democrats who were seething in hatred for Trump.  Muller was just a face on the investigation but the investigators were hired and assembled by Democrats for the sole pupose of attempting to find something to try and impeach Trump over.  It was a huge nothing burger and now the Ukrane sitaution is more of the same.

If Trump did do what they say and was guilty then it should be forgiven him and no impeachment case against him because like others up there in Washington HE didn't INTEND to break the law and we all know from experience .. No intent means no prosecution ... right?

As soon as Trump, and all associated people, agree to testify before Congress, I'll gladly agree.

Then you also agree to the above testifying under oath.

Deep State is nothing more than a group of deceiving, criminal and corrupt politicians and government workers who are working to overthrow the US government because of their desire for power and belief that they best can govern this great nation. In reality they are treasonous lunatics aided by the equally corrupt mainstream media (MSM).
