I’m a doubter, I’m not sure what’s true/what isn’t.  From all my years in church, hearing the Word preached/spoken, all the years of prayers that went nowhere & everything else that goes along with Religion, it doesn’t hurt me in any way at all what is on a Police car. I would love for an unbeliever to tell me how those words hurt him/her.

Christians have as much right to their beliefs as I do my un-beliefs. Only problem I have with Christians is those that pretend to be one when they’re so clearly not & those that try to shove their Christianity off on me.

“DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said another Alabama sheriff's received a letter from the foundation saying they want, ‘In God We Trust” removed from sheriff's department equipment”.

Police are public servants. Christians, atheists, Muslims, and Hindus all pay their taxes and deserve equal representation. This is why there should be no "In God We Trust" on police cars, government buildings, or our money.

I'm an atheist, and I pay taxes just like everyone else. What if I want the police cars in my town to say "In God We Do Not Trust"? Is that acceptable? Of course not, because it doesn't represent everyone's view. Most people are alright with "In God We Trust", but we live in a society that isn't run by mob rule. Our constitution guarantees rights even for minorities.

Maybe first figure out why it's the "National Motto."

I consider myself an Atheist but it doesn't hurt me in any way at all what they put on cars. A Law enforcement officer puts his life on the line every time he's on duty, & sometimes even when he's off duty. If he feels better having that on his car, then he has the right.

As far as it being on paper bills, as long as I can spend it, I don't care what's on it.

Assuming that your reference to "othuger" is one of the many childish, inane, insulting and disrespectful terms you apply to the current President of the United States and Commander-in-Chief of Her Armed Forces, the Honorable Barack H. Obama, I am calling you out on your false and fabricated ASSertion that he "changed the motto in 2009."

The President made a speech in 2010 (not 2009) in which he mistakenly said that the national motto was "E pluribus unum." That gaffe did not change anything.  The official motto remains "In God we trust."

Before you go chuckling and chortling about Obama's mistake, be advised that he is not the only president who was misinformed on the national motto.

"Other modern presidents have made reference to E pluribus unum as the U.S. motto with little or no comment, such as President Ronald Reagan, who, in an address to the National Forum on Excellence in Education in 1983, said: "The motto of the United States is E Pluribus Unum, from many, one. Well, more than any other institution, our schools built that one from the many."

Don't need google on this one.  A good education is better.

Like my electrician daddy used to say, "before you change the lamp bulb, check to see if it's plugged in first.

Good link, regardless.  Thanks.
