You say "Jesus"? That is weird... aren't you an Atheist? Anyway. I thought you were insane because I was looking at this one:

Then I kept scrolling and saw this one:

and more scrolling led to this one:

Holy Cow! I thought the adult costumes were bad. I still wonder - who are the parents that are buying this sort of stuff for their kids? I mean, what kid wants to go treating as a hooker dressed like a witch?
what's wrong with them? nothing if you feel comforatable dressing your child in skimpy clothes and trolling them in front of the perverts and pedophiles that will take every advantage they can....

if adults want to turn trick-or-treating into turning tricks for themselves it's their business, but children should not be tarted-up.
Playing dress-up is fine. Dressing your kids to look like, as PuF put it, they are turning tricks is just sick. Also, dressing your kids all other days of the year like they are mini prostitutes should result in at least a threat to remove them from the home unless the parents agree to take parenting classes.

Okay, here's the fist problem: They are sexy. That is not necessarily a bad thing except for problem number two:

They are little kids!

The last problem is this: In case you don't read headlines, there are men who perv-out on sexy, little girls.

Jesus! (which is a figure of speech meaning "What the hell are you goofy parents thinking!")

I don't know if I missed something, but I see nothing wrong with the costumes! One of them showed a little belly, but not enough to cause a riot! Some of the skirts could be a little longer, but come on they could be a lot worse!!!
I also do not see anything wrong with the costumes. I see little girls wearing blue jean skirts shorter than that. I see tons of little girls wearing short dresses that are appropriate and adorable and no one is harping about that. And, what parent is going to let their child go out ALONE on Halloween so a perv will have the chance to make a move? It is a fun holiday. Everyone shouldn't get so worked up over it.
I may be calling down the wrath of the Forum regulars but I have to say it:
GoFish do you have any daughters? Your interpretation of what constitutes a sexy Halloween costume is rather Puritan based on the knee length skirts I have seen here. However, I remember back in July you were all worked up about what you felt was the sexual nature of little girls in a dance recital at the mall. You even went so far as to say that you knew what sexy moves were because you had been to enough strip clubs to know the difference. Now you are upset about little girls wearing "sexy" Halloween costumes. I find your trend of interest and getting all worked up over little girls "inappropriate" dancing and costumes strange.

The ones posted here were not showing belly, but if you follow the link in the first post there was one showing a belly, woop-te-doo!

I don't think any of the costumes on the link were called "SEXBOT"! They were witches and princesses and things...Guess I missed that costume Wink

Uh....excuse me here, but..what exactly are you implying? Confused
I'd like to know what they are implying, too. I have a daughter and I agree with Go Fish. Some of the area dance companies do feature children performing highly sexualized dances that closely resemble what the women do in the strip clubs. Anyone who takes issue with someone speaking out against it must think it is ok. Do you immolate99 think it is ok for 8 and 9 year old little girls to perform simulated sex acts at a dance recital? I don't. I don't think Go Fish does, either and that is what he stated in his earlier post.

If a parent wants to dress their little girl up like hookers, let them wear skirts that show their panties, and otherwise make them into something that a grown man will lust after - have at it. Saying "I've seen worse" does not make it right. What many of us are stating is that it is gross and indecent to many people, me included. My daughter is 13 and I try to instill in her that her body is her body and is not something to use for attention and to titillate random boys / men. As to the "find out where the pervs are and avoid them" statement - that is not possible. The pervs are everywhere. They are at friend's homes, they are your neighbor's cousins, they are at the gas station, they are at McDonald's, they are at the mall. Teach your children to dress like they value themselves and their bodies and this isn't an issue.

I don't find it strange at all that GoFish thinks young girls should NOT be sexualized and fetishized by society. Do YOU?!?!?

p.s. When you say "knee length skirts," you must be referring to the fact that you can see more than their knees. Those young girls who are modeling are obviously sexualized, and you'd have to be blind to not see that.

Take a look at the way the "witch" - complete with the Catholic schoolgirl nuance - was posing (under instructions, no doubt), and take a look at a typical Victoria's Secret advertisement, and tell me the difference in how much the models are sexualized. Nada.
I have a 13 year old..and I will NOT tolerate her dressing this way.. she has some friends that have came to my house dressed kinda sleezy.. they better be glad I am not their mom

One in particular, likes to wear the short shirts showing her tummy, tight LOW cut jeans, and then I catch her at my house TAKING HER BIRTH CONTROL! My Gosh, she is 13!! And her mom has let her dress this way for the whole 5 years I have known her! I have never tried to choose my daughters friends, but I did suggest that she not hang around this one. she agreed
i agree with you Gofish
"I don't find it strange at all that GoFish thinks young girls should NOT be sexualized and fetishized by society. Do YOU?!?!?"

Hey "Fetish" may be the right word to describe it, thank you!

"p.s. When you say "knee length skirts," you must be referring to the fact that you can see more than their knees."

Whoa, you can see they have on tights from the knees down. Nothing above that is exposed. Scandulous!

"Those young girls who are modeling are obviously sexualized, and you'd have to be blind to not see that."

How are they modeling sexy? Standing there? Hands on hips? Calm down there Jerry Falwell.

------------------

Yeah, and fishnets are "tights" too. Ask any stripper.

Hands on their hips? Your mom probably stood with her hands on her hips once and gave you a certain look. Your significant other probably stood with his/her hands on his/her hips and gave you an entirely different look. Surely you can tell the difference.

Jerry Falwell? Because I don't think young girls should be oppressed by the male gaze? Oh please... Are your debating skills really that limited?
Are even seeing the same costumes? I didn't see any fishnets? Were the girls wearing high heels with them? Garters? Dollar bills in the garters? Ok, that would be inappropriate. We can agree that the girls I saw on page one of this forum topic do look about as sexy as your mother standing there. So I still think you are being ridiculous, and I don't have to debate you about it, Jerry, I just don't have to agree with you. Rest In Peace!

That's it... Choose the easy way out of a discussion you apparently can't successfully tackle.

Those skirts are not knee-length. They are more accurately described as mid-thigh. Let your daughter wear such garb. Don't be shocked when the other kids at school call her a tramp and she starts acting like one.

Good call! And it's all because of that **** Jasmine DISNEY costume I let her wear when she was 7 that showed her belly. She was such a tramp then too.

Do you believe in Jesus and/or hell?

Aside from that, excellent topic! Parents, please keep your kids safe tomorrow night and remember - just because you are with them does not prevent dirty perverts from leering at them.

What excellent parenting skills. I personally, would never allow my child (7 years old or not) to dress like a tramp. You are putting your child on display as fodder for dirty old men and sexual predators. If that doesn't bother you, it should.

DF,

I would hope there's a middle ground between that and the commercialization of sexualized 'witchy' Halloween costumes marketed to 10 year-old girls.
I would rather my kid be in a burka than dressed like a hooker.

There is this old guy every time I am in Walmart that leers at young girls all day, (I'm talking about 8 year olds) and none of them wear costumes to tempt him. Perverts are perverts. Protect your children, but don't make them feel like they are in the wrong because they want to wear a belly baring costume on Halloween as an 8 year old. You start freaking out about that, it makes the kids misunderstand and think that they are the bad guys. That isn't fair either.

Perhaps this is a man/woman thing. I do not believe you girls really understand a man's mind. If you did, you would probably cover your girls from head to toe. This is probably why you almost never see a daddy buying these kinds of costumes

Most of us men must consciously block our naturally perverted (or violent) selves from thinking "evil" thoughts. Like you girls, we have bad thoughts on various topics form time to time and, like you girls, are able to control those thoughts and not act on them most of the time. But unlike you girls, there are a lot more of us men that cannot or will no control those urges.

So, if you mommies enjoy the thought of what may pass through the mind of an old man when he sees your little girl dressed as a prostitot, then I guess there's not a damm thing I can tell you. But if you find that as disturbing as I would if I had a daughter, I urge you to dress your daughters appropriately.

For gosh sakes please don't hold them out as prostitutes and pass it off as being "cute." We do not live in innocent times any more. It's not cute. It's scary.
