Have you ever been ripped off by an insurance company? A lot of peoples premiums are going up because of the past hurricanes. And what is sad is all those burial policies, you might thought were worth something and is not enough to buy a tombstone, but somehow they controll the system to see that they don't have to honor them. And why our premiums keep increasing the insurance companies profits keep rising. And they tell you there is nothing you can do about it, file the complaints at http://www.aldoi.gov/Consumers/FileComplaint.aspx

Mr. Blues....I have had a recent run in with my insurance company in the last few weeks..Still dont understand my coverage here...anyway...My son's car was broken into..they took his cd player..his dvd player and his cd's....ok...as for the car...the cd player was covered..the cd's were not. and the dvd player wasnt because the screens was not installed into the head rest..So..my comprehensive I HAD really sucked...also on the same night my Dually was broken into...Got my Speakers and the amp...they treated me like I was a liar...I told them to forget it...I would replace all the stuff on my own...for some reason they didnt like that...my lap top was stolen and my a cell phone...this was a business truck and it sit in my drive way..so taking all this stuff in at night would have taken an hour at least and you would have thought that in the front yard of your home you might be a little safe...now as for the lap top and the cell phone..not covered....if it had been plugged into the lighter and was charging then it would have been considered connected to the vehicle and they would have paid for it...but since it wasnt..they wanted me to claim it on my homeowners..and thats what I really needed to do..might have got lucky and got canceled...anyway...I feel as if they have this coverage they sell you sugar coated to sell it then when you need it the sugar falls off and there you have the lemon drop...I give the insurance companys 1 nail out of 5...

Most of those policies were designed to get you in the door so you could be influenced to "upgrade" to a more expensive casket. The premium charged was for the "cash in lieu of funeral" amount listed in the policy, so the most the insurance company is going to pay is $ 150 to $ 300. When they first came out, all the funeral home received for servicing them was a replacement casket and $ 50, so "upgrading" was the only way a funeral home could keep from losing money servicing them. With funeral costs the way they are today, I don't see how any funeral home could honor those policies without a substantial additional payment from the insurance company, and I doubt that is current practice.
