I have to ask why?  there are many in need in our own country, and at a lower cost.   they took a month off of work? spent $20-40,000 wow however the article states they are people of modest means. so they are using other people's money or church donations.  Again how many in our own country need help?  isn't woodward Baptist one of those mega churches?

1130, it can cost much more to adopt here in this country, which is an outright shame. My wife and I were talking about this over lunch on Sunday and it is a poor testament to the fact that we have made it this difficult and expensive to give an orphan a home. It started back in the 70's. My parents tried to adopt a girl from a Christian children;s home, because my mom could not have any more children and wanted a daughter. They were told no because my father attended another denomination of church.  It broke their heart, and really reinforced to me that sometimes these homes do not have the best interest of the children at heart. Yes, they need to make sure they are going to good homes, but it should not cost this much money nor require such ridiculous guidelines in order to give a child a loving home.
