This is just awful...

Girl killed for being seen with boy, outside of her religion.

Although it was sadly not an isolated incident, the bloody death by stoning of a 17-year-old girl has sparked controversy about sectarian strife and gender relations in Iraq, which some believe have taken a sharp turn for the worse since the beginning of the war in 2003.

Unfortunately, like pharonic circumcision of females, honor killings are common in the middle east or southwest asia, central and north Africa.

In Gaza, a girl was raped by her brothers. The Palis did jail the brothers, but after the child was born and placed with relatives, the girl's mother strangled her.

Muslims do it in Europe, as well, all too common.

I think he understands it perfectly well. It is permissible in the society to kill a wife, daughter, or even mother for disgracing the family. That would include being raped, not cooking/cleaning well, or any other infraction.

There are victims who have escaped to the United States that have told their stories. Some have survived attempts at being burned alive, others have been disfigured.

Thousands killed a year more disfigured. Whats to understand?

You are you, and they are them, and we're all OK.

God's too big for one religion.

Did I leave anything out?

Yeah, where's God or Allah when you need him?

Joe Pesci would have never let this happen....
As SAD as it is to the United States of America, who has a CIVILIZED Nation... things of this nature goes on in other cultures and religions!!! And as bad as we WISH we could stop it, we never can....

They have their religion, they have their Culture, and there is NOTHING anyone can do about it...

In their religion, and their worship of Allah, all this crap is ALLOWED and ENOURAGED!!!!

WE, beng civilized, just cannot wrap our brains around someone living different lives, with different laws, customs, religions, cultures... And thank God we cannot, or else we would be no better than them.

What? You think if we stay in Iraq long enough we are going to change all that??? Forgetting about the OTHER Nations over there who will swing Iraq right back to where they were during Saddam's rule... We will only make a "temporary" difference.

I sincerely hope no one on here is arrogant enough to believe that the Middle East will change because we invaded one of their smaller, weaker nations?????

We will have to keep Troops there from now to NEVER to keep OUR kind of peace and culture going.... OUR kind of democracy is going to go out the door as soon as we leave. In fact, it is already out the door in a LOT of places there, they are only PRETENDING to buy into our way of life... That is very sad but very true.
