Well, there's your answer! And by golly, it appears that they didn't even TRY to find a baseball coach. They just put priority on finding a qualified classroom teacher and lo and behold, without even posting the coaching position, they just coincidentally found someone who could, as an after-thought, coach baseball and football, as an ASIDE to his teaching duties. Isn't that a nice coincidence? They just casually asked him if he would be interested in coaching when he was in there for that interview and he said......Well let me think about it.... Coaching? Well I don't know... Science is my main thing... Oh, well, yes, I guess I could coach in my spare time.

And the other teacher? Well, he just happens to be qualfied for athletic director! What a nice coincidence. It just couldn't have worked out better if they had been planning it that way for months. Way to go!

Good luck, athletes! You're going to really need it now that your administration has put priority on hiring academic teachers over hiring qualified coaches!
I just have a couple of questions. How do know that the new science teacher is not qualified to coach baseball? Or that the math teacher is not qualified to be the athletic director. I can't figure out why everyone is jumping to conclusions that who the administration hired is not qualified for the job. I know that if a science and math were the only to slots open then they would have to fill them with a science and math position. It is posible that one person is qualified to teach and coach two different sports. And I am sure that both of the resumes sent in by them had all of their qualifications on it, including the fact that the science teacher could coach baseball and football, and that the math teacher had the athletic background to be an athletic director. You know, there are alot of teachers that go into the teaching field because of there love for children and the love of the game. No matter what that game might be. Why doesn't everyone just give them a chance to prove themselves? You never know, they just might be what everyone has been looking for.
And I think it is a good thing that the administration is looking for good academic teachers. It is nice to know that some people do still care about our children's education.

Both hires are a joke. Deshler baseball will become a laughing stock with this coach. SHS is very pleased that DHS didnt hire JF. He will continue to win at SHS while DHS continues its steady decline. Athletics at DHS will continue to fall as long as CM is allowed to stay. He has 1 good football team left.

I feel like you must live in my head. LOL. I understand you and salute your honesty!!! I don't know if CM has to leave, but the DHS program is about to start suffering. and yes, he has 1 great team left. if he wins state he can write his own ticket to a big school and a higher tax bracket for his retirement!

Don't know the coach that was hired, but I've known Beck for awhile and have coached against him. You're speaking from an ignorant point of view. You have no way of knowing what kind of job he'll do as AD.

Beck didn't have much of a shot at the Franklin Co. Supt. anyway. Gary Williams is next up on the list and everyone knows that.

I'm sure SHS is happy to still have Coach Fuller...he's a great coach and would be very hard to replace.
