Not since Dr. Huxtable have I ever felt Cosby was a friend of the left.  He represented a successful black man who gave hard advice to black teens.  If anything, I think he was/is regarded by the left/black as an Uncle Tom.

Politics aside, if he raped, he's a sob.

I'm totally in agreement if he did it. In times past I would likely automatically accept the ladies version of events on face value, but personal values seem to have evolved where people will do or say anything for Andy Warhol's 15 minutes. Since the Zimmerman media lynching with the editing of video and audio to get the desired effect, I don't accept anything at face value from the news media, so I'll remain neutral.

Still have to ask "why now". I'd love to know who he p***** off. There's a lot to consider too. Could it have been a case of him promising them help with their careers and that never happened? I mean, are any of them famous? Too, when gloria allred gets involved a person's credibility drops drastically. She's the white female version of al sharpton.

Histories Of Several Cosby Accusers Cast Doubt On Tales

A number of women who have accused comedian Bill Cosby of sexual assault either have factual contradictions in their accounts or have personal histories that cast doubt on their claims, The Daily Caller has learned.

Five of Cosby’s recent accusers, including multiple women currently or previously represented by prominent feminist attorney Gloria Allred, have engaged in statements and behavior that warrant increased scrutiny of their public accusations against Cosby.

“There is virtually no standard by which the media are holding Mr Cosby’s accusers,” Cosby attorney Marty Singer told The Daily Caller in a statement. “Anyone and everyone who wants to file a suit or get on television can be guaranteed fawning coverage. The very same media have demonstrated an unconscionable disinterest in the veracity of his accusers and their motives.”

The wave of sexual assault allegations against Cosby recently re-emerged in the media after comedian Hannibal Buress referenced past accusations in a standup routine.

Allred held a press conference last week with three recent accusers calling upon Cosby to pay $100 million in damages to the women or to agree to waive the statute of limitations on civil lawsuits.

The accusers presented below — gathered from an analysis of the women speaking out against Cosby — represent those individuals whose personal histories have raised red flags about either their credibility, their mental stability, or their run-ins with the law.

Chelan Lasha accused Cosby of sexual assault in a televised press conference with Gloria Allred on December 3, where Allred demanded Cosby pay $100 million in damages for Lasha and other alleged victims. Reached for comment, Allred directed TheDC to Lasha’s statement from the press conference stating the details of her alleged assault, which she claimed occurred in 1986.

Public records show that Lasha has long criminal rap sheet.

She has been arrested for crimes including false reporting and prostitution.

Lasha was arrested in 2007 and charged in Arizona with false reporting to law enforcement and trespassing — she pled guilty on both counts. Lasha was previously arrested for theft in Oregon in 1988 and was convicted.

Lasha was arrested on October 18, 2014 in California and was charged with possession of a billy club. She was also arrested in 2008 in Arizona for assault, disorderly conduct — fighting and trespassing, and pled guilty to disorderly conduct – fighting.

Lasha pled guilty following a 2008 arrest in Arizona for prostitution, which was her second prostitution charge, according to available public records. Lasha failed to complete a mandatory diversion program stemming from her prostitution arrest. A warrant was issued for her arrest.

Excerpt:

Masten also joined in sexual abuse accusations against sportscaster Marv Albert in the 1990s, and was represented by lawyer Gloria Allred during the Albert case. Masten accused Albert of biting and assaulting her after Albert had already been accused of biting and assaulting another woman. Albert called Masten’s claim a “complete fabrication.”

Even Marv Albert’s original accuser, Vanessa Perhach, accused Masten of “riding my comet” and joining in the allegations against Albert only “for the money,” according to a 1997 New York Daily News article.

1. As of three days ago, there were a total of 26 women accusing Cosby.

2. Some may be lying, but all of them?

3. Why wait years? Just who would have believed them--that's why?

4. As someone who does rape counseling, I can tell you that many women don't come forward at the time because they think it was a one-time thing with the attacker. When they discover he's still assaulting women (or young girls), they finally get the courage to do something about it.

5. Alabama is one of the few states that does not have a statute of limitations on rape, either in the first or second degree. We imagine some men must cringe whenever they hear of a new charge for an old crime.

Being a woman, I can see how this happened. Rich and famous, a woman would think you couldn't  beat that.

It makes me sad too because we saw him once in a show. I had to keep wiping my eyes I was laughing so hard. The women behind me were screaming with laughter. He's so funny. Because he's rich and famous people wouldn't believe that he could do this.  That's why he could get away with it.

When he was accused and it was going to court in 2006 [?] and then it was settled out of court I thought it might be just a gold digger. Recently I heard a lawyer say that famous people often settle out of court to protect their families from a trial. But now I believe that he probably did it. Something like 12 woman were ready to testify at that 2006 trial to prove he had a history of that behavior. Protected by his fame and fortune. Been going on forever. Sometimes I wish I had a weiner.

When you look at when this supposedly started it was before woman realized they had any power over rich and famous men. The famous model that recently said he had invited her over for coffee and then tried to drug her didn't have anything to gain by coming forward.

My mind isn't totally made up. I do have doubts. I do want to believe that he didn't do it. What if he did? What if my belief that he is what he seems to be a great person is wrong and that has allowed him to abuse woman?

One guy said something to think about too, "given the way men and women throw themselves at 'celebrities' and the 'rich and famous', and that cosby would have had his share of that going on, it doesn't make a lot of sense that he'd be drugging them".  So yes, women want to marry manson, and they want that without manson drugging them.

Off subject of the thread, but speaking of the manson clan, did you know tex watson was not only allowed to marry while in prison, but he was granted conjugal visits and fathered three kids the taxpayers of California had to support? Imagine what kind of skank loser it would take to marry that blood thirsty killer, and what an insult to taxpayers to have to support her and their spawn.

Oops, watson fathered four kids.

Watson and his wife have twice been investigated by the California attorney general, for committing Medi-Cal fraud to finance their children’s births and for using funds from their nonprofit organization, Abounding Love Ministries, for personal use. The Christian group’s Web site offers sermonettes about such topics as “the big four killers of this day and age”—identified as alcohol, sex, drugs, and suicide—and offers copies of a Manson-era memoir by Watson, who once told two of his chosen victims, “I am the devil, and I’m here to do the devil’s business.”

"Rape is a serious allegation and it is suppose to be taken VERY seriously but so is Falsely accusing someone. When someone rapes a person they go to prison. THAT should also happen to the person that has wrongfully accused an innocent victim. They are not ONLY destroying innocent people's life they are ALSO making it hard for the MEN and Women to find justice when they have been raped," she wrote.

She questioned the validity of the alleged victim's recollections of the supposed incidents.

"Drugged- you can remember the whole **** day but you were drugged? Just sayin. Memory- you can remember you looked at (allegedly) each other, people were starring allegedly remembering your home address allegedly the name you called him allegedly But you were allegedly drugged," Evin said.

Evin also took time to express gratitude for the support she and her family has received

Attorney for Bill Cosby, Martin Singer, has fired off a heated legal letter to CNN accusing it of a smear campaign against the famous comedian.

In the letter to CNN president Jeffrey Zucker, Singer said that CNN decided not to use an interview with Beverly Johnson’s live-in boyfriend from 2006-2009, Mark Burk, because he didn’t corroborate her story of being drugged by the “Cosby Show” star for an upcoming special planned by the cable news network.

“We continue to be shocked by CNN’s ongoing refusal to investigate and run balanced stories about my client,” Singer wrote in the letter obtained by TMZ.

“While airing untested stories from accusers who have seemingly been subject to little or no vetting,” Singer continued, “CNN takes the opposite approach and with anyone who comes forward with information undermining accusers’ claims or with relevant information supporting Mr. Cosby.”

According to Singer, CNN reporters interviewed Burk, who told them that Johnson had never made a negative comment about Cosby and even said she admired the TV star and saw him as a mentor during the time they lived together. Singer accuses the CNN reporters of trying to “manipulate and coerce” Burk into saying statements that supported Johnson’s accusations. And when he wouldn’t corroborate Johnson’s account of events with Cosby, the reporters began attacking Burk and his background. Burk offered to send supporting documents for his statements, but CNN ultimately decided not to use his interview.

“This reckless approach to ‘journalism’ is outrageous,” the attorney wrote. “Accusers are being given a national platform by CNN without first exercising the most rudimentary journalistic investigation as to their claims and motivations. In contrast, CNN disregards and attacks sources with anything positive to say about my client or with relevant information undermining allegations that have been made.”

In early December, Johnson came forward with accusations that Cosby drugged her during an audition for “The Cosby Show” in the mid-80s in an essay for Vanity Fair. The supermodel said that she was able to fight back, which caused the comedian to place her in a taxi home before any type of possible assault could occur.

Johnson is just one of more than 20 women who have come forward with accusations of being drugged and sexually assaulted by Cosby.

In the wake of the mounting allegations against the 77-year-old comedian, Singer released a statement saying, “The new, never-before-heard claims from women who have come forward in the past two weeks with unsubstantiated, fantastical stories about things they say occurred 30, 40, or even 50 years ago have escalated far past the point of absurdity.”

Since the allegations against Cosby surfaced, NBC has abandoned plans to develop a comedy that would have starred Cosby, while Netflix has postponed a comedy special featuring the comedian. Also, several shows on Cosby’s standup tour have been canceled

When can we expect you to tell us John Wayne Gacy got a bad rap?

The one who was in prison for raping teen boys but was released to do it again, and this time kill them? Are you now going to suggest cosby killed women and buried them under his house, then confessed? When can we expect you to  explain what gacy, who confessed to the murders, has to do with this discussion?
