President Obama is in year # FIVE and has yet to improve the economy. He even said he shouldn’t be elected for a second term if he didn’t fix it. Well he didn’t and he was against his own advice. He and his cronies are masters at diverting from the real problem. The first two years of his first term with both the Senate and the House in the Socialists’ control, what does he focus on? Not the economy, it was so- called global warming and other quackery. With unemployment at a post-depression high (considering all those who stopped looking for work not counted anymore), it’s now gun control. The Economy?  Fo Get About It.

jt,

Several periods -- 1790s during expansion of Industrial Revolution, Gilded age 1840s, latest 1950s after WWII.  Thanks to the present administration, we're on the road to zero growth.

Let's not forget the late 80's and 90's.

From 1790s to 1815, the US doubled its size, introduced the automatic weaving processes that started the Industrial Revolution.  During the War of 1812, the US was cut off from most foreign trade and had go provide its own wares.  The requirement for interchangeable parts for arms, forced development of modern metal-working machine tools, including milling machines, grinders, shapers and planers. The development of these modern machine tools made possible the development of modern industry capable of mass production.

1840s forward saw the industrialization of the nation, international trade, rail and telegraph communications and growth of the nation to its Pacific borders.  Tremendous growth in power, wealth and trade.
