Jake is Missing

Sorry to hear that...I live at 7-points. Quite a ways off, I know...but I'll keep my eyes peeled just in case he's wandering.

I hate to hear this, I have a brown lab myself. I have heard they are targeted for theft, hopefully that is not the case here.....

Stinky, sorry to hear that, do you have a picture of your pet you can post on here.

Be sure to microchip big dogs like that. Small ones too for that matter. This time of year there is alot of theft.

Hope you find him...Have you checked the humane shelter yet?

Go out at night, while it's still and quiet and call him. I sure hope you find him.

Almost 2 years ago my yellow lab came up missing but I found him the next day. He was just a few months old and wandered off.

Had I not had to drive to Talladege yesterday, I would have taken with me as I sometimes do. I have check with the shelters, call him by name, even contacted the PD in case, they came across him, as we had previously met several of the officers, when I was out working/playing with him.

They really thought it was funny when I left him in my truck to run into a store for a beverage or restroom break, as if I was gone longer than Jake thought I should be, he would start blowing the horn until I returned. He would also known to be a music critic and would change the radio dial if he didn't like the music, close or open AC/heat vents; as well as stare down drivers at redlights.

As you see Jake was quite a character. When he was just a pup, he almost cause a divorce as there were several days/nights when we shared the "dog house" together because of something he, we or I did.

Is there a PetSmart in Florence (I can't remember)? They do microchipping for $29.95. It is well worth it!

I hate to hear about your dog, we live in Franklin County in the rural area and someone came into our yard Thursday evening and killed my puppy that we had rescued. They also cut the extension cords for my husband's decorations and slashed some of the inflatables. We found empty beer bottles in the yard as well as an empty cigarette pack. My puppy was afraid of strangers so I know he would not have gone up to them. There was a baseball in the yard and I am assuming that they hit him in the head with it. My other 2 dogs and cats were not hurt. It hurts to lose a beloved pet. I hope that you find yours

We found a black lab - very healthy and friendly near Huntsville Road today. Is this jake?? PM me with your contact info. This dog belongs to someone - hope it's yours.

I glad to say that Jake is been located and returned back home. Thanks for all of the support and a big thanks to LB for finding him and contacting me. My kids and I are glad to have him home, as he sure was missed during his absence.

You are so very welcome!! We couldn't believe he was right in front of our house this afternoon and answered when we called his name...we knew it had to be him. We are all so happy to have helped get him back home. My kids had a blast playing with him!! Happy endings are great!!

No sooner had we returned Jake than a cute little black kitten showed up at our doorstep. Anyone missing a cat?

Strays end up at my house, too, but mostly only pregnant cats. Anyone need a cat? I have several. LOL!
