I don't live in Florence, but I think what has happened over there is an atrocity to government... oh wait, I think that about the Federal gov't too! lol

Anyway, my son and his wife lives in Florence, and back at you guy's last election I saw signed EVERYWHERE that said "VOTE 'EM ALL OUT"... I am just wondering what happened and why they weren't voted all out? Seems like people knew THEN that they needed a change, so they weren't ready to make it then????

Just curious.... can be likened to the Bush election too, I suppose Ooops, did I say that? LOL!!!

Don't forget Angie Pickens stands up to this crap too. She knows what time it is.

I can't believe Bobby Irons has let Neese get away with THEFT of Taxpayer Money. I can see now in 2008 A vote for Bobby Irons is a Vote for Jimmy Neese.

I think Angie is donig a good job too. As long as she don't follow Irons on any issue she'll be okay.

You're right Taxedenuff. That shows how screwed up things are at the Lauderdale County Commission. I for one will not vote for any of these guys again

There is a new phrase in Florence now, it is the "Jimmy Neese Loan" as in "hey Mayor, can you get me one of those Jimmy Neese Loans?" Low Interest, No Pay-Back, great terms, no fuss, no muss. "It's not what you owe, it's who you know." The deal of a lifetime.

Just you wait and see before it's overwith Neese will get another board appointment and another loan from the mayor.

I think Angie Pickens & Scott Carrier tried to do something but the rest of the council overrode them.

I heard that maybe at least one more councilperson is now ready to sue to force some action. It is about time.

I heard they may sue Jimmy Neese for all that money he stole. They need to do something. Angie & Scott seem to be the only ones trying to collect. Someone told me that Bobby Irons wants to FORGIVE the LOAN. I voted for Irons last time but I sure won't this time, you see why don't you?

of course Irons is wanting to "forgive" the loan. he has been seen lunching around town with the 'famous folks" ,QUITE A LOT over the past few months

i agree,maybe its time to get media outside this little "click" town, local media sure is of no help on the matter . Some of the Huntsville reporters might just be interested in it, afterall you know how it goes if they go to digging no telling what else they might just happen upon as well!

Smurph and others: I don't want to burst any bubbles but the Huntsville TV stations are owned in the following way: WHNT: New York Times WAFF: Raycom Media (owned by parent company RSA) and as for WAAY? I don't think they have the budget, I don't even think they cover the Shoals anymore. BUT WAIT, don't we have 2 local stations? YEAH RIGHT! One is a joke and the other is a satellite receiver SO it is word of mouth folks which is what is so great about the area. The TD can print all the propoganda it wants and Huntsville can ignore us but there ARE folks in the area who know the truth and will tell it! That is what the good people who post on this board shows and others like it. THE DOG

That's been the problem KS -- we all had the "Vote Em All Out" signs in our yards the last election and got rid of all the incumbents -- this is the new crew (with one incumbent) that is continuing this...

The Legal Issue to protect the loan from sliding into the present situation, fell on the City's Attorney....The question is..Why did the attorney allow the City to enter into a contract that put them in a position of losing the entire funds, due to the inability to collect...This weakness was allowed to taint the contract and the detriment of the Florence Citiziens...
I believe Scott and Angie should look at the E&O insurance of the City's attorney to collect the amount that needs to be recovered...
Does anyone know who was the attorney who did such a shoddy job?

I was talking with some of my retiree buddies this morning and we're not going to vote for anybody that lets Neese get away with Grand Larceny. I may just be a little old woman to some, but my friends and I VOTE!
