Im not sure what he did, and who knows it might be a serious issue (doesnt sound like it) but no matter what it is i think the mrs. behrends is the one that needs to go. she was a great teacher when i was in school, but it seems know that she is on a power trip. there have been many issues that she has blown out of proportion and many athletics related issues she doesnt understand
I know Joe personally and he is a good guy, can't imagine it was for ethical reason

My son goes to FHS. They were told both parties (Mr. Hollis - Athletic Dept) wanted info to remain private. They were told he might start back next season. I don't think they'd have plans to bring him back it if were something really bad. My guess is that he was accused of something they knew he didn't do, but they had to suspend him to shut somebody up. That is absolutely a guess; I know nothing.

Ms. Behrends is the best thing to ever happen to this school district. I don't think there is ANYONE alive that could have handled the consolidation issue wish as much class and efficiency as she.
Hollis is a nice guy but he didn't do a very small part of his job that exposed the system to millions in liability. He was warned but didn't comply. He had to go.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if you ever have any kind of problems with the schools your oponion may change. My child broke her ankle in PE last year, the PE teacher called her a crybaby, made her run laps and never called me. When I tried to talk with the BOE, nobody would return my phone calls. So yes she may have handled the consolidation but she's got alot to learn about dealing with parents.

I have had problems. I've got a 22 year old who went through al his years in Florence and now a 13 year old who is doing the same.

Perhaps that's because you should have called, first, the teacher and wrung his butt out (and I'm just assuming there isn't another side to the story here). After getting nothing from the teacher, you should have called the administration.
After getting nowhere there, THEN you call the BoE. There is a chain of command here. If you break it, you risk being ignored as "just another whiney parent."
It sounds to me like you have a full blown lawsuit there. Why didn't you sue someone? Perhaps because we don't quite have all the facts?
Behrends has to listen to a thousand complaints every day from redneck parents who have nothing better to do than pick a fight.
If she didn't return your call, I am very nearly certain there was a good reason for it.
Like I said everyone is entitled to their own opinion! And FYI, I did follow chain of command, still got me nowhere! This teacher has 4 pending lawsuits that I am aware of at this time.
