Last Saturday night we went to Jonathan's located at 628 E 2nd St, Muscle Shoals...It is approximately 100 yards on your right when you turn east on 2nd from Woodward Ave.
They were busy, but not really over crowded, so we were seated fairly quickly. If you expect fancy decor then you come to the wrong place...so if you want to impress someone with decor..this ain't it..
It atmosphere could be described as a Steak Waffle House establishment, without the smoke...
The waitress was very quick at taking our drink and appetizer order...(they do not have an ABC Beer/liquor license so no alcohol beverages are being served at this time)....the waitress stated they have applied...just have not been approved as of yet...We looked at the buffalo wings which was 5.99, and settled on the appetizer Combo for 7.99...it consisted of mushrooms, wings and bloomin onion..
While the appetizer was being prepared, we took ourselves to the salad bar to give it a look see...(it states one trip only...so no grazing here..but after looking at the salad bar selection...I really don't believe that is too much of a problem..
If you are use to Ryans, or Oh! Bryans Salad Bar...ya gonna been disappointed...your first impression is ...is that all there is??? So!
When we went back to the table our appetizer showed up about 5 minutes later...they did not bring one dish but three dishes...I thought we would have gotten just portions of a main appetizer...instead they loaded us down with a full plate of each...The Sauce for the Blooming Onion was good, however the onion had been over cooked and somewhat on the dark side...which gave it more of a robust taste...the chicken wings were tender, hot and plentiful...the spice on the wings is luke warm at best...the mushrooms were typical institutional frozen battered crap...but if you are use to eating prebreaded mushrooms you would be in hog heaven...I ordered the Filet Mignon at 15.99...The portion served was adequate. The steak was ordered med rare but was more on the rare than medium..but the flavor was good, and the meat extremely tender...I would order it again.. My Partner in crime here, ordered the Cowboy Rib Eye at 18.99...the size was adequate..but again ordered med rare and was mostly rare...She stated, she would go with the filet next time...liked it better...
Total damage for the night...$60.00 with tip...

Personally, for the amount of money we spent, Outback,Logans,Georges,Dales, or Oh! Bryans would be a better choice...
