The guys at Killen AutoZone are the best. I rolled into the Chevron station with a flat tire. The air machine was broken and the guys at AutoZone actually came out and put my spare on for me. Guys, if you read on here, thanks!

If you live anywhere near Killen, shop at AutoZone! They've got customer service going on.

Do you know how to change a flat tire yourself?

I do now, thanks to the guys at Killen AutoZone.

a bunch of "new" tires have surfaced that came off the cars from floods.(katrina, Illinois Floods....) sometimes it is buyer beware!

Yep. I think that's the case with this one. I might should have the other one checked out too.

BTW - at that store, they had a neat little air compressor that ran off the cigarette lighter. My tire would not air up but it would be nice to have one of those little compressors in a pinch. I think I'll got back and buy that thing.

Spiegler, that's how I repair my flats, Fix-A-Flat! I agree, it is important for women to be empowered and know how to do things for themselves, but ugh, I just don't want to change a tire. Ever.
Most of you probably know that I am a classic car LOVER, but I can fix a flat,(by changing it, no fix a flat, that stuff will ruin a sometimes fixable tire) & change the oil, install new plugs & wires, and have even once dropped a drive shaft (with help of course) and had to have it balanced when the hubby was working out of town.
My husband has trained me well!
He, too, thinks that all women should know these things because you can't always rely on a man to be around & even if they are, doesn't mean they will always lend a hand.
IDK. Maybe it's me who has trained him well!!
And by looking at me, you probably wouldn't think I'd be capable of doing these kind of things!
That is what is so funny to me!
Dang Flo, you are a Jane of all trades!!! Big Grin I envy you!!! Wish I could do all that - you are probably a great cook to boot - I can't do that very well either - hey, I can pump gas! Big Grin

Firedancer, you had a smart daddy!! I didn't do that with my 19 y/o daughter or my 21 y/o son for that matter - but I am going to make sure my 8 y/o can change a flat when she gets her license. I got an inspiration from you and your dad! Thanks! Big Grin

The compressor will be a good thing to have. I can change a flat, but i also have a small generator i carry in my trunk that has an air compressor, plus an emergency light, battery charger and AC outlet....and i have AAA.
