Killen Bank Independent robbed

No doubt. Before I left Connecticut, There was a guy who had apparently lost his job, his house, and pretty much everything of value that meant anything to him. First thing he did was rob the local NewMil Bank in New Milford, CT. The very next thing he did was take some of his haul to a prominent lawyer in town to retain his services. Then he went home and waited for the State Police to come get him. He surrendered without incident and all but the lawyer's fee was recovered.

His plan was simple. Guaranteed three hots and a cot for quite some time-courtesy of the state of Conecticut.

Now if THAT ain't desperate-I dunno what is.

Isn't it a bit presumptious to assume that the bank was robbed because someone was in desperate straits? Maybe the person is just a bad guy. Stealing is stealing.

Didn't this same Bank Independent get robbed last year?

It wasn't a statement, it was a question.

I am still trying to figure out how tall this guy is.....TD says he is 6'2" and shoals Insider says 5'5"

maybe, they could show a picture of the guy from the security camera and the public could help identify him. You did have a security camera, right?

The police bolo that was transmitted by the first officer on the scene relied on a eye witness statement that the subject was 6'2" tall. The updated bolo indicated that the surveillance video showed he was between 5'6 and 5'9".

Its absolutely normal for eye witnesses to misjudge height, weight and other characteristics in situations like this.

So who investigates a bank robbery? i saw the Sheriffs Office and Killen PD at the scene on the TD video.

Primary investigative responsibility for financial institutions insured by FDIC falls on the FBI.

Any and all agencies with jurisdiction cooperate in this type of investigation.

So why do they wait so long on posting a photo from the surveillance video. He was on foot, so it looks like it was a local job, and someone would recognize him if they posted a photo.

Define "so long". The T/D had a press release by 12:00 noon (I received a text about it then). The photo was on the 5 pm news, and the video was on line before that.

I have not seen the photo on TD and I don't watch the news, so I must have just missed it. I will look for it, Thanks
