The AJC (Atlanta Journal) is lucky to have one fan out there (even if out of state). I've been here (Atlanta) for 21 years after spending the first 23 in the Shoals area and most people I know think very little of the AJC...the coupons aren't even good anymore-LOL.

Brentenman, THANK YOU for serving the USA so that we are all still free to express our opinions...whether some like them or not. Now we have to do something about that avatar...ROLL TIDE Wink

Ya know, Mkirk... I have thanked B'man so many times for the Service he does for our country, and when he decided to leave the forum I begged him not to... and my repayment for all that????

A slap in the face by him SEVERAL times, even called evil because we differ in views politically... Now, I ask you, what RIGHT does a UNIFORM give to ANY MAN OR WOMAN to treat people with such disrespect and be so mean to them????

Never are any of us going to find anyone who agrees with everything we believe, but being curtious, respectful does NOT cost a dime.

I hope and Pray that your thanking him for his deeds doesn't reap for you what it has done for several of us on the Forums.

It can all be proven if you have time to start way back at page one and start reading, and make sure you read it ALL, and ALL the snide, insulting and just plain mean comments he has made to people... even threw his JAG in there trying to impress us all.

I just wish his JAG could read everything that man has written on a public forum to the Citizens of this Country,... I sincerely think he would NOT like it one single bit.

Wonder if that JAG has a name and address????

1. Most of us, or anyone for that matter, can do the same thing. It is called the Internet. Did you or Algore invent it?

2. AJC is a VERY left of center paper in the editorial department....I wonder why sales of that paper have been slipping and sliding downhill for the past few years? Can one say Cynthia Tucker??????

3. Long term correspndence = not a native of Alabama, doubtful you have even visited. Until you have visited, or lived there, you know nothing about how the REAL people of Alabama are. Same as when someone tells me: "I have been to Alaska before..I took a cruise up there last summer.." From my personal experience, you do not know Alaska until you have spent at least 1 FULL winter up there (I have 3 full winters...).


B Man, you serve at Leavenworth. It is the center of the Army's indoctination school. They did a good job on you. My HONORABLE discharge is dated 19 May, 1966. I gotta admit that I could not field strip an M 4 or Arm and fire a Patriot.

If you are going to use the internet, thank the people who made it possible. Have you bothered to read the Gore Quote that is used to say he claims to have "invented" the internet? He said, and it is true, that he was involved in the legislation that ENABLED the internet. That is a far cry from saying he invented it, and it is also one hundred percent true.

If you look at the thread on the .50 caliber rifles, EdEKit got MORE than he bargained for......He picked the WRONG topic to have a discussion he dislikes/has little knowledge about..and he paid for it. Hopefully, he learned his lesson, and learned a thing or two about firearms in general. Myself, and ALOT of others, whom are on various gun-message boards I linked this thread too, feel that he has not.....


I had to read this three times and I still do not get the point. So, you guys had a discussion that you gained the "king of the hill" award, and now you are posting the PM's for all to see? Confused

Kindred_Spirit, Thanks for the Other Post, I was, quite frankly, storming out of the room and slamming the door behind me. I cooled off, Checked out the bus, decided that I was still not interested in being the chef, since the kitchen is on the roof, not under it, took a nap, and sheepisly returned to the party hat in hand, to find that the tantrum had the exact effect I expected.
The series of PM's Brentenman so kindly posted is Only Proof of two things. One, Brentenman only posted my side of the conversation. Two, he saves the stuff he hopes will discredit his opponents. I CAN'T post the whole thread, I deleted it when I came to the conclusion that I was wasting my time with a homesick boy from Alabama.
I had allowed myself to get sucked into a Gun Control fight with a gunslinger. I have never met a craftsman who was not proud of his tools. I am no exception.

Mr, edekit, you are one couragous citizen, to allow all of these people write all of the things and call you almost every name in the book and it don't even phase you. Not one time have you said you wanted to take their guns. you only stated your oppinion that you don't need them. You are entiteled to post your thoughts. this is a prime example of people on the right going overboard to make others look bad. diplomacy and understanding the other side is the key to democracy, those fools are only interested in making enemys if you don't carry the same view they do. disscusion and debate is what I thought this forum is all about, not attacking each other.

It isn't BAIT, it was honest questions that deserved HONEST answers, which you seem unable to give...

As far as Baiting, I think anyone on here could read a LOT of posts on the first page and see just WHO was BAITING who!!! And that was you, only it wasn't just ME you have been baiting, you have been baiting a few others, but I cannot take their stand, they can and are very capable of doing it on their own!!!

2) I hope you understand the other side when it comes to terrorism - because they want us all dead and diplomacy never works with terrorists.

1. I hope by judging your avitar, you and I are on the same side.

2. If you are attacking me, then you and I become enemys.

3. I did not say anything about reasoning with terrorists.

4. There is nothing more the other side would like to see than you and I fighting within. When you and I are busy attacking one another and calling names it creates the division the terrorists want. you and I need to debate and come to a reasonable compromise that can benifet the both of us. Winning is out of the question if the opposition will fight to the death to defend a word they cannot define, and a philosophy they will not practice.


For what it is worth, the memory of Ken, and ALL his belief's are still with me and my family. The day of his funeral, when they folded the Flag that was draped over the casket, there was only ONE of his brothers there to accept it... Later on that evening, his kids got it, but at the time, they were all just TOO upset to understand how and what to do with it...... that was so sad.

But he did so with such eloquence!! Barrister was right, and Barrister was wrong... and I probably am the ONLY one who knows what you mean by that since Barrister was a huge part of my kinship for 25 years before his death. He was a very intelligent human being, and a War Veteran, and his death was untimely and tragic... but I understand your message... and everyone on here who took pot-shots at ME because of the fact that you knew him, and I was related to him, have to live with themselves because they do NOT have a clue as to what they are saying!!!!

Sad huh?
