I always enjoy a great/good steak and lately it seems that the best ones can be found at either Outback and/or Texas Roadhouse.  I'm not saying that Longhorn or Logans, Georges or Stanfields are not good but strictly based on my own taste preferences and experiences I believe there is a difference between the offerings in the area.

Here is what my opinion is regarding our local Steakhouses

Best Filet - Hands down best price & Quality/Taste is Texas Roadhouse with Outback Steakhouse coming in second but costing quite a bit more.

Best Prime Rib - No question about it - Outback Steakhouse has the best Prime Rib with Longhorn coming.

Sirloin - best (Center cut) Sirloin is Outback Steakhouse.

Ribeye - Here there are a few close competitors - Best (for me) would be tied between Stanfield's and/or Ohh Bryans followed by Texas Roadhouse then Longhorn but lately I've had a lot of problems with what I've gotten from Longhorn.

Best Seafood - Georges & Outback Steakhouse tied.  Georges for fried Shrimp and Outback for Crab & Lobster.

Bon Appetite y'all ..  highly opinionated statements no doubt, and subject to change at any time.

What ever happened to the steakhouses serving Prime meat?  All of those mentioned above are serving common everyday Choice grade beef.  Sure, they're okay, but they're not GREAT!

We used to often go to Chops in Atlanta and a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.  Now, that's where you get the really good steak.

There's a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Huntsville.  Also, recommend Grill 29.

I wouldn't try and refute that, even if I could, but sometimes good is great when you haven't been exposed to the difference.  I've never had the pleasure of a Ruth's Chris meal and maybe that's a good thing because as much as I eat out I might be glad I don't know the difference.  I did have several good meals at both Dales and also Sperry's when they took over but I still don't know if they used Prime meat.
