The LAI report is entitled "Preliminary engineering Report...."
That is an understatement.
There are many, many criteria that the ADEM landfill regulations require to be addressed before they will even accept an application for a new landfill. The report fails to address a large number of these, yet concludes, with unjustified optimism, that the proposed landfill site "is well-suited for development of a solid waste landfill" and "meets the entire ADEM landfill siting criteria as described in more detail in this report." It is most markedly deficient in its evaluation of subsurface geology, which is one of the very most significant factors required to be evaluated. In short, any conclusion of acceptability at this time, and at this stage of investigation, is ludicrous on its face! More details concerning this little quick and dirty report and its glaring flaws will be provided by knowledgeable citizens speaking at the upcoming City Council meeting--Comcast, Channel 3, 5:00 p.m. tomorrow!
