Tonight on Larry King will interview the man who should be running for President and the man is Colin Powell.

I can't wait until I see what all he has to say. It will be super interesting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the Bush Gang done him dirty and forced him to tell lies and everything else.

I could be wrong. If they had gone alone with Powell on the wars things might have being slightly to alot better than what it is now.

He has been there and KNOWS what war is all about.

I'm not exactly wild about the way Powell bowed to the pressure of the administration, testifying before the UN with those pathetic "intel" photos and avoiding doing what his conscience obviously demanded he do: resign, and tell the world why. He might have saved us a pile of trouble, money, young lives, and prestige in the world arena.

Plus, word is that his wife won't hear of a presidential run due to the time-honored American tradition of raking candidates over the coals for a couple of years.

But I DO think he's a man of integrity, regardless of his failure to step up to the plate when it counted.
I have got to give the man some credit here though... he has since told what HE did, and apologized... I saw an interview with him about 2 months ago...

He also said, as a general, he has finally found out that we are in so far over our heads over there that we may never get to come home again.

And what he said HAS to be right, because just this morning, they were talking about some guys going over there for their fourth and fifth tour and the National Guard Troops are now being re-deployed for their next go around.. and that these people, no matter their ages, just cannot keep up with their lives being that way, they WILL crack, as will their families...

Very true statements.
Larry King has as much credibility as a journalist these days in my eyes as Jerry Springer. Look at all the shows on Anna Nicole Smith! And (I know I won't get any support on this one but don't give a ****) caught MY HERO Michael Moore on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night and he was BUMPED by Paris Hilton! I guess her exploits in jail are more important to Larry King and his viewers than the health care crisis in America that will be out June 29th, SICKO. Hope you folks up in the Shoals get to see it, although I remember when Fahrenheit 911 came out we had to drive to Huntsville. Thank God and Vulcan I am in Birmingham! Moon Doggie

Having caught an advance screening of "SiCKO", I suggest that despite your feelings of "Mr. Moore The Human Being", should you see the movie, you'll leave the theater amazed at the brilliance of "Mr. Moore The Filmmaker"...

"SiCKO" is without a doubt the most moving and educational commentary on ANY subject I've ever seen as the focus of a documentary-- and our nation's approach to health care, I submit, is an issue that hits home for everyone except the fantastically rich.

That we've been duped so successfully by the all-powerful health management organizations and the congressmen they've bought and paid for is perhaps the most disgusting and miserable failure of the American Way.

See the movie and post even the most feeble of arguments to counter the unassailable truths contained therein, and I'll eat my hat.

Oh, and don't get sick, hear? Sick people don't make HMO shareholders stinking rich, y'know?
pba,

The problem leftist have with paleo-conservatives is we have long memories. Constantly beating the drum that Bush lied, Bush lied, doesn't work. True, the big lie technique was invented by someone who hated capitalism. If Bush lied, then so did the British MI-5 and MI-6, the French Intelligence (remember, despite being against the Iraq invasion, Chirac promised help if Iraq used chemical weapons), Italian intelligence, German intelligence, and missing WMD from the inventories originally given the UN inspectors by the Iraqi military. So far, your just a leftist. You've gone from beating a drum to beating a dead horse. Don't make the mistake old possum did. He's graduating from fellow traveler of the sons of the prophet to a full fledged "Vidkun" with all it nasty plummage.
bcabler,

Yes, Moore can make a good film. Leni Reifenstahl made a few too. I really like the Star Wars Star Trek series, but I don't believe in Wookies nor do I plan to learn Klingon. The man stitching himself up could gone to an emergency room and got the service for free. A recent column stated that policies for $90 a month could cover the other man's fingers being reattached. Why didn't he have that, instead of spending $12,000 for one fnger? There are a number of free clinics and other facilities for WTC victims. In 1959, Cuba had 11 prisons, but now has 300 (not counting Gitmo). No mention of that growth industry in cuba. Here's a picture of real Cuba hospital facilties:

Sorry, but Bush DID lie, and it matters NONE to me what other country lies, what matters to me is the very man we are all supposed to look up to, LIED!!! And it has been proven so many times I cannot understand why people keep taking up for his false "HONESTY"...

But like other posts have said, without Cheney, Bush would NEVER have even gotten close to being this far, Cheney is really the President... but it STILL don't matter...

BUSH LIED... not only once, but many times!!!! And that is not from MEMORY, that is from actually WATCHING IT UNFOLD.

I also do not like King... but Powell is NOW finding out all the truths himself.. and I admire that in anyone ... I admire anyone who can get on National Television and admit to their wrong doings... which is what Powell did.

I actually don't like any of the Media talk show hosts, they all have their OWN agenda.

pba: It sounds like you have received a stern warning from the thought police. Perhaps there is still hope for you -- maybe if you confess your leftist sins and sincerely repent, you can be saved from falling into that dreadful abyss that "old possum" fell into. (Who is old possum anyways?) We all know that Bush never lied. Nor did MI-5 or MI-6 or anyone else. Your sin, which is mortal (not venial), is not believing everything you are told. Repent now and you will be welcomed with open arms onto the neocon bandwagon.

By the way, what the heck is a "Vidkun" anyways?
You stating he lied and actual proof is a different thing. Jumping up and down and yelling he lied, doesn't make it so. To infer some grand conspiracy among a half a dozen nations, most of whom did not approve of the Iraq invasion, begets disbelief in any futher claims you might make -- that's Pogos job.

The Iraq military gave the US and the UN a list of their remaining WMD assets. UN inspectors oversaw destruction of only part on the inventory. The inspectors were dismissed and when brought back were told the the Iraqi military destroyed the rest -- trust us! Where did the things go, who knows. Perhaps the Iraqis told the truth, perhaps they're in Syria or buried in the western desert. Per Saddam, the WMD existed at one time. He destroyed them on his own, lied about their existence or hide them. Big mistake on his part.

Welcome to the TD Forum bcabler! Just a couple of friendly words to the wise -- since I see you are a "New Kid on the Block". Down in these parts, we don't take too kindly to folks telling us that there's something wrong with our present ways of doin' things. So I suggest you tread lightly with your radical, liberal, left-wing bright ideas. We chew up your kind and spit 'em out. So be forewarned -- just keep any original thoughts to yourself -- especially if they have anything to do with saying everything is not honky dory with the way we do things here in the good ole USA. Keep that in mind and we'll all get along just fine..... jk

Peace Brother, Thank you my friend for the beautiful advise that you have offered. So, I'm going to repent of my sins right now. Peace Brother, I have been very guilty of not watching FOX News. I am also guilty of not listening religiously to right wing talk shows. I'm guilty of having doubt each time Bush speaks and tries to convience me that the Iraq war was the right thing to do. Forgive me for not believeing in Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter and other right wing people like them. Well, it's a start anyway, Peace Brother. I mean after all, I thought I was doing the right thing. I mean after all, they say it's UnAmerican to think the way I do. Thanks again, Peace Brother, for reminding me that I need to repent.By the way, what the heck is a "Vidkun" anyways? I don't know. lol

Unfortunately, those like inventor who keep their heads in the sand and let Cheney and friends keep their hands in their wallets will not DEMAND national health care. I hope SICKO is playing in the Shoals. MOONDOGGIE

We might just be UnAmerican to not think like inventor. lol
