Las Trojas in the Florence Mall has been here well long enough now to have worked out the kinks and problems yet my recent trip back to there only served to prove, at least to me, that not only have they not worked out the problems but that the problems seem to be increasing.
At least they have gotten rid of the dark blue glasses that made every drink look the same but in my case we ordered Fajitas only to get the Fajitas at the booth steaming from the plate but had to wait more than five minutes for the flour tortillas to be brought out so although the Fajitas were hot they were cooled down by the time we were able to eat them. On the positive side we were served a plentiful amount and the taste was good but the service was horrible and then we were overcharged by the waitress and even by the manager. We were continually charged the dinner price at lunch and although they finally got it right it was after four attempts and that never should have happened.
In short I have decided that if I'm in the mood for Fajita's I'll go to Rosie's Cantina and if I'm in the Mall area I'll choose Casa Mexicana over Las Trojas anytime. I hate to see a restaurant like Las Trojas being run so sloppy and badly and although you have to really screen your bill the fact is if there is a mistake or problem. you can bet that management will not issue any credit against the bill's total. Mistakes aren't tolerated but they are seemingly expected and become the norm. The meal was good, the food good and the drinks were also very good but patrons beware and expect that there will be problems and what shouldn't be expected is that if there is a problem that management will make up for it. Overall I'd have to give it a 4 out of 10 for total dining experience.
