something I learned long ago...words only mean what you let them mean. When someone starts badmouthing me...I know I have just gained their respect. I have become important enough to them that they must try to dominate me.

Brentenman please send me your own message so I can contact you. You have been %^$% over sure be caucause you belive in the USA but being from upper Greenhill we have a lot in common. I want to keep in touch.

That stuff happens on every forum. If someone gets out of hand, ignore them. I don't let idiots ruin things I enjoy.

brent,don't leave. heck we all get heckled. I have just been slammed by Officer Barney in another thread,but hey if it makes him happy to do so,it just tickles me pink for him. But i sure do not intend to leave,,,,,and neither should you! I respect much of what you say ,even when I disagree I still repect your opnions

Brenten, I must have missed what happened, but you shouldn't leave. I don't know what was said, but leaving would just let whomever it was, win.

I have been there before on the site I admin. for, and it's not fun to be criticized, much less being demeaned for your opinion.

I agree that the admins here work sooo much differently than we do at our site, they really should be keeping an eye at this place more. We have 60,000 members, and 33 admins, and nothing demeaning is left up for more than 10 minutes at the site I volunteer for (I don't even get paid.)

What I tell the members that get frustrated, when something happens behind the scenes, is, "if you can't ignore it, or are going to blow a gasket, take a few days away from the site. Just reassess what is going on, and after a few days away, you might feel better."

I know that's easier said than done, when you have someone always harping on you, though. But I have seen you reply here, you make a part of this site just as much as anyone else here. Whether someone agrees or disagrees with you, doesn't make your points invalid. Just take a few days and lurk if you have to, but I'm sure your friends here don't want you to leave forever.

I don't know you well, but my mother has spoken about you and it's always been wonderful things. Don't let some stranger hiding behind anonymity get you down, or angry. Don't give them that kind of satisfaction, because that's what people with low self esteem feed off of. They are attention mongers, and any attention, positive or negative that they can get, makes them feel special.

I know I wouldn't do it, I'd just ignore it.

Either way, I really hope that you do one day return to this site, so that maybe I can get to know you. If not though, I wish you much luck in your journey of life, and hope that only the best comes your way.

I'm sorry, but this whole thread is becoming a farce. BM is a big boy. He can take care of himself. Why coddle him? If he's grown enough to be an active soldier in this war, he sure as heck doesn't need you folks to hug his neck and tell him it's going to be okay to stay here because nobody on these forums can hurt him. He's a grown man. It's up to him to stay or go. Why pander? He's not a 5-year-old that wants chicken soup to feel better. He's an adult, and he can make the decision he wants.

Any nominations for resident Bigot to take his place? He can't even be honest now.

We all realize that Brenten is a grown man. No one has said differently, but sometimes even grown men need to see that they are worth something, when they are upset, angry or sad. You may not like it, but heh, I don't care.

If he still wants to leave that is cool.. And btw, it's actually not coddling, it's more of unsolicited advice.

Manda, if you "don't know what went down" how can you possibly comment about it? Sheeesh!

Because I don't care what went down. In a general objective manner, it doesn't really matter. Someone is leaving, and wouldn't have posted if not need advice or closure.

In the end, we are all human, we all screw up, so whatever happened doesn't really rank that high on what matters to me.

Thing is, I have read some things that he has said that I don't personally agree with. But then I think, as I put myself in his shoes, he's a soldier and with that I can only imagine how that messes with you and how it changes one's opinions.

I try never to let what someone says on here affect my overall opinion on them. Mom says I am wise beyond my years when it comes to that. I'm not sure.

I just feel it really stinks to see all these people that are probably much older than me, act much younger than me, just because there is anonymity. When I do reply to things, I think them out, and even if it's personally insulting, I take it with a grain of salt. *shrugs*

Then again, I don't expect people to be like me(It'd be kinda boring if everyone were). It's just something interesting I have noticed that seems to be the norm here. It makes for interesting drama though sometimes. lol

ONE person monitoring this forum just is NOT enough, this forum should be handled like the other one I go to, and they have SEVERAL Admins to keep the peace... that is what Admins are supposed to do... You are correct, the Admin has too much to do here to keep the TROLLS and SLIMEBAGS at a controllable level.... They need help!!!

BUT, until they GET it, we have a beautiful feature called IGNORE... it does work, I only see a couple of BAITING comments from my IGNORE list because people include them on their comments...

There is actually WAR on this forum, but the ONLY reason for that is these people ENJOY hurting other people, and they cannot and should not be allowed to win!!!!
