While I've never heard anything concerning the disposition of the bodies of Leo I and Leo II, I do know the former died at UT and the latter at Auburn. Both universities have fine veterinary colleges that include crematoriums for large animals.

Just as an aside, I had a step cousin by marriage (very close relationship obviously) who was interning at UT when Leo I died. He said the big cat was extremely ill and could not have recovered.

I have to admit that I thought bchbum was talking about Law Enforcement Officers to begin with! I was pretty confused till I read the other posts. I couldn't figure out why deceased people would be sent to a boot company, lol!

I thought the same thing. My mind went one further......'Of course they send dead LEOs to the Boot Co......to be fitted for new boots!!!'
