No, their rule is that your date cannot be of the same sex. If she had bought her friend a ticket, lied about the name/sex of her date & shown up, she'd have been in a lot of trouble. She asked permission & was denied.

Now, how the media got involved, I do not know.

I have my doubts as to the validity of this story. It says she was sent to a "fake prom". Are we to believe the five other students there were misled as well? Sounds fishy to me.


I said meet your friend at the prom, not take your friend to the prom. I guess I am assuming they are both HS students of the same school but maybe my assumption is incorrect, if so my bad.
