Isn't Chris Matthews on NBC? Honestly I don't watch NBC News or MSNBC. And I do not watch Fox. Both are a little too much for me. So I can't say much about Mr. Matthews. But you vulgarly describe what you wish him to do.
I suspect Mr. Matthews isn't much different than most of those types of commentators. So we can throw him in with the rest of the loons like Pat Robertson, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Alan Colmes, etc.
So in all fairness I searched for a list of liberal commentators. I found a list of the 25 most influential liberal commentators at Forbes.com. Mr. Matthews was #12. I only recognized a few. Oprah Winfrey made #6. I thought she would be higher. Jon Stewart made #5. I never watch his show so I really didn't know what he was all about. Arianna Huffington, founder of the Huffington Post was #2. I've never read the Huffington Post other than links. #1 was Paul Krugman. I've never heard of him. Here's you a link if you are curious:
Link to Forbes Article. You go to the end of the article and click the In Depth link to get a picture show of them.
So I began to wonder why, as a Democrat, I wouldn't care about most of these people. I've heard of a few of them. Maybe it is because I use my own brain instead of letting other people do my thinking for me.
Honestly, I don't give one iota about the "liberal" or "conservative" commentators. They are all in it to make money. Seems like they do a pretty good job of it. I guess it is entertaining.
You see I don't look at things like "Liberal = Democrat" and "Conservative = Republican." It doesn't work that way if you look at the whole picture. But, sadly, I don't think most people do look at the whole picture. More sadly is some people letting others influence them so deeply.
