When someone inserts a link to another page in a forum post, all it does is say "Link"

example: Link

INSTEAD of doing that, shouldn't it be posting the true URL of the site, or atleast the url without http/www included. (i neglected to include the proper syntax on purpose)

so say i want to post Link instead of it showing up as just "Link" it should show up as "Link: getfirefox.com" or something similar.

this protects users that don't hover and check the links for a potential phishing scam.

example: i post a link, and i say its going to go to different thread here-- but actually its a link to my own server with a fake login script that looks similar to times daily's, once a user entered their user/pass- i would have it.

thats fine and dandy and all, but it should be a automatic thing. scammers won't use the URL button, they know bbcode better than i do!

Know your poster, and there shouldn't be a problem. Really, is this a problem? I've never been misdirected to a malignant site on these boards.
