I need to get a birth cert for someone who was born in Lauderdale. Where do I go? What do I need? This person does not have a driver's license or a copy of the SS card.

The Health Dept. is the correct place to go.
In order to get my passport I had to have my birth certificate(it had been lost from my high school days).So I had to send a request to the state capital for one.You can probably get the info from the Health Dept.
When I applied for SS, I needed a copy of my birth certificate.
Went to the Health Department . Had to have the name, birth date, and name of mother and father (I believe). Don't remember if I had to show ID or not.
Seems like it cost about $15 and took about 30 minutes.

Go to any county health department in the state you were born. They can issue a birth certificate while you wait. My SO went and he was in the building for a total of 15 minutes. Take your SS card. They say it's required but my SO wasn't even asked for his.

go to the health department up hwy 13, north of forest hills school. it's a new brick building on the right if you are going north.
take the info you have. they can do them while you wait. it seems i remember they were fairly inexpensive (i forget exactly how much).

When you are dealing with people who refuse to deal in facts there is no reason to even try to argue with them. These nutjobs had rather believe in some conspiracy that Obama's parents conspired with the hospital in Hawaii, and the local newspapers and had a child somewhere else, and then just sat back and waited for him to become president , than to just believe the truth.

Yes, what I got was a "Certificate of Live Birth" also. Worse yet, it states my Dad was born in another state, not Alabama where he was in fact born (although he DIDN'T have a birth certificate). Guess they think I was born on the moon.
If none of these other ideas work, you might try going to the Health Department.

Not positive about birth certificates, but the courthouse has a wealth of information about anyone who has ever been divorced. I went today and got a copy of one I had really been wondering about. The thing was 2 volumes - HUGE- but I'm glad I found about the TRUTH!! It was worth it! It even had pictures of this woman I am investigating - the pictures are priceless. They are of her and a man that has been dead since before she was born. (She had added herself to it with the computer)
I found out more than I really wanted to know. We have some genuine psychos around here ya'll!
